Think we kind of missed this here. A little video obviously filmed during the tour.

In light of the badger cull. Which is now going ahead.

Yes, it's been doing the rounds on FB for a while. We have a badger set, luckily secure and protected :-)

Yes, I saw it before.

BRIAN MAY RULES!!! Animals need to be protected much more, they are so precious and vulnerable.
Great that Meat supports it!

Don't think anyone is claiming it does.
Culling thousands of animals in order to prevent a possibility is obviously not going to sit well with everyone. I think it is pretty understandable. Brian May is a clever guy. I'm sure he has looked into the facts and considered the other side of the argument as well even if you think he is wrong and that the cull is the right thing to do.

Didn't say it did, although the issues are different in my view between wild animals and those bred for food. Nature exerts a natural balance in the former, unless man gets in the way. The latter are bred specifically beyond any natural balance in nature, destined for the table, and should be slaughtered humanely. They are not made victims of cruel hunting activites (like badger baiting), or chased down and killed for "sport" or profit, or clubbed to death like baby seals.

Two pilots of the badger cull have been sanctioned to reduce bovine TB, but a long-term study has found that culling 70% of badgers in an area could reduce the disease in herds by 16%, which seems disproportionate.

My badgers live peacefully in their wild, are gentle creatures, and will never come into contact with cattle .. so I am glad they are safe, and will continue to enjoy their night time visits :-) When we kept pigs, they were well looked after and slaughtered humanely.
