This setup is powered by a Yamaha RX-V795 Receiver which I bought 1999 (iirc). Left to the receiver you can see one of the Canton Combi 250 speakers. The speakers come with a medium sized passive subwoofer. Setup is completed with Onkyo center and surround speakers.

This is not exactly an audiophile setup, because the Yamaha doesn't reproduce the midrange frequencies very well. Still, it has a decent phono preamp built in and the Dual 1219 does sound very nice with the mounted Shure cartridge. The receiver does very well with DD/DTS encoded movies (Notice the el-cheapo LG blu-Ray player on top of the Yamaha) and is perfect for occasional listening to music.

Really?
Shame, most of my Hifi-equipment was produced in Europe (except the Yamaha, of course). :bleh:

just the actual volume control knob doesn't always control the volume, if you just use the remote control you'll never notice... quite an easy fix as well im told, but i'll stick to just using the remote :)

Mine's working fine - I just used the knob a few hours ago.

Got mine up and running in the new house this afternoon. Another advantage of not having neighbours is the VOLUME!
