I'd imagine there's as much chance of it happening as there is Glastonbury being mud free

Back in 1997 or 1998ish it was a news item on VH1 that he was going to do it the following year.

Obviously it never happened but I did wonder what happened for them to announce that.

The best festival in the world. Its a performing arts festival so all types of music not just rock or pop. I think the legends slot on sunday afternoon would be perfect for Meat. I think performing in this slot raises a performers profile and increases record sales. Think Meat should give it a go if he's asked.

Tickets for Glastonbury sell out before artists are announced, so we would have to be tipped off early to get to see him there. Watching it on tv would be heartbreaking especially with the no more tour situation.

To be honest, watching him from the back of that crowd, up to the eyeballs in crap would be more heartbreaking!

I think Lucy, knowing what he does about the UK weather, and having done his last tour here, I doubt he'd accept the invitation ;) Next year he'll be doing his final US tour right through the summer, and the year after that? .. who knows what he'll be up to, but playing to Glastonbury would imo be low on his list ;)

It's kind of a shame, as Bat played to a crowd that size would be out of this world.
Come hell or high water I will travel to the end of the earth for Meat, but I think even I would have to draw the line at Glastonbury. I so wish I was a festival person but I'm just not!

Happy to see him at a Festival but not one that expects me to fork out £200ish pound without telling me whose playing!

Is that how much it is? Have to say I thought it'd be more, that's a good price for the amount you get over several days.

After attending 5 Glastonbury's I can honestly say that no matter what the weather, it is without doubt the best weekends I have had. Far more to that place than music. You'll never experience anything like it and no matter how big a fan of any artist you are, they will be the smallest part of the best weekend of your life.
I would be very surprised that Meat would be offered a slot there and id be even more surprised if he even wanted to do it but I think if he did play he would rock it up and would go down a storm.

It's a very fair price if you like the acts but if you don't it'd be a waste

I thought Metallica were excellent this year, always wanted to see them live!

I think Meat would be asked, no worries, but with the sound problems I've noted at some of his outdoor concerts (Warwick Castle 2005, Broadlands 2008...) he might be wise turning it down.
