Interesting to note that the song that opened the Casa de carne tour is originally by the band Eagles of Death Metal (a rock band, not necessarily heavy metal despite their name) who were performing at the Bataclan theatre were 100 of their fans were murdered last night in Paris.

There is harrowing footage of the Bataclan attack showing people hanging out of the windows of the theatre trying to get to safety and injured fans limping away. Luckily most escaped the rain of bullets.

People just going to see their favourite band like you and me do, caught up in insanity.

Thinking of the families and friends of the victims and those caught up in the other attacks in Paris, and also the band and their fans.

as Meat pointed out a few years ago:
We could do with a bit more love in this world and less hate.

Hi Andrew,
I remember seeing Meat and the Band performing this song in NJ and NY in december 2008.
When I heard the name of the Band playing at the Bataclan yesterday evening, that was a double shock for me.
Journalists here say that the venue was targeted because it belongs to jewish people and also because there was an american group playing. Kinda symbol for terrorists.
Everything's really quiet tonight in Paris, most people stayed at home. All of us are deeply shocked and moved.

Thanks for your reply.

I can only imagine what it must be like over there. It's all very sad also after the attack in January.
I just hope this isn't going to continue.
Keep safe.

I also read Disneyland Paris is closed till tuesday at least. I've been there many times.

In fact lots of venues, shops, libraries... are closed today. Very unusual in Paris I must say.
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Andrew.

Scarily enough, we were supposed to be in Paris this week, but things got moved around as they often do and we cancelled about six weeks ago. Now, excuse my French, but F~~K me. What a horrendous, awful event, and a tragic shock for everyone, everywhere. Just the idea that you could be gunned down in the street, in the blink of an eye, at a gig - is terrifying. Thoughts are out to all those who know people who were there.

I'm glad you weren't in Paris this week. The areas were the terrorists shot people include lots of venues and restaurants, you could have been there.
What can we say when facing such inhumanity ? Emotion is extreme in France and all over the world I guess. We are all extremely grateful for all the friendly messages we received from everywhere.
