View Full Version : Meat on BBC HARDtalk
Transmitted today although recorded when he was here in the UK. Anyone who thinks he's "frail" or losing it should watch this .. sharp, funny, and non-defensively dealing with a interviewer who had expected to be talking to a mad, bad rock star driven off the rails by booze and drugs yet managed to claw his way back .. and found himself talking to an easy-going guy simply refuting the picture ;)

For those unable to access BBC iplayer, here's one small clip from the close to 30 minute interview, which is on YT so far

Can someone put up the whole interview on YouTube please? :bunny:
Not that easy .. I know I can't. They don't make it easy now they've changed access to iplayer. I can record these when they are on but can't get them from there into something I can pass on. Best thing really is to sign up to one of those proxy servers, then when you connect and are asked "Do you have a licence?" if you say Yes it seems to accept it. I'm sure others here can recommend some with free one month or cheap subscriptions?
But it may appear on YT by someone more cunning & able than I ;) So far the only one is the short clip I posted the link to. Sorry ..

Let's see if I can get more than a clip uploaded.
See? .. some have the cunning ;)
I had to use the YT link, but you are right, he does seem on the ball. thanks, I honestly set and cried the day I saw him on one of those am talk shows.
The last time I sat and cried over someone I'd never even met ( however I have met ML briefly) was Erma Bombeck, a writer.
His music has just been a part of my life for so long.

Here you go - full interview. The sound quality has a little bit of noise but nothing much.
I've uploaded it as an unlisted video, so you will need to use the link to go to it. :-)

Great interview still sounds like he wants to tour the UK and Europe. He was certainly laying down the law and putting his side of the story on various subjects and not taking any rubbish great interview.

Thankyou carly
FANTASTIC interview.
Tho, i will say meat is telling a little white lie, so it doesn't get sensationalized. which I understand.
he has had arguments with Jim. There are a couple in his autobiography. one where he flipped a rehearsal piano. the bad for good chapter is full of things like the fact he wanted to use the touring band.
Bat 2 recording sessions as well.

Well, if you can't use a white lie or two....!

And as I brought to everyone's attention recently, pointing out its existence doesn't make him less entertaining or mean we don't understand why it would be said. That's the fun part of being human -- trying to understand why people do what they do.
