Stupid website by the way: you can't even see the nominees without signing up. And as for my unwillingness to vote:

2. Eligibility to Vote

2.1 You must be a resident of Great Britain.

Doesn't apply to me, so I can't either.

Registration: use fake name and adress, I always do that.
I didn't know about having to be a resident... And I gave a Dutch adress. Does that mean my vote doesn't count?

No worries, I have a few .com email adresses I can use to vote and guess what... All of a sudden I live in London. 8)

If you're worried about receiving spam after signing up, you could sign up for a free webmail account.

No one's gonna know you aren't from the UK if you use fake information. The only time I'd be concerned is when the information people submit is checked and found to be false, or found to be from people living outside the UK.

As I have said in another thread, the hype certainly hasn't died down. In fact, for most areas of the world, it hasn't even begun. Hype does not only consist of the talk or speculation about an album prior to it's release, does not only consist of advertising, does not last for a short predetermined period, and it does not end when it has been released in a small proportion of countries and just a few people have heard it (which is the case now). There are lots of things still to come: releases in various countries, more singles (who knows what might be on them?), and tours. These things constitute hype too. I don't understand how someone could possibly think there is no hype left. Hype is still going on. That's a fact.

LOL! Slightly off topic: When I attempted to sign up to be an HBO.com member on their website and so get the ability to post in the Carvinale forums, I was asked for a five digit zip code. I input 90210, a Hollywood zip code and also that of the tv show "Beverly Hills 90210"

However, it didn't seem to like my email address that ends in .co.nz. Things like this offend me. It seems that so many sites are very US-centric.

I voted twice: release of the year, for CHSIB and Legendary Albums, BOOH.
500 members voting would be great, but not all 500 members visit here, there are always members that register and then forget all about a forum.

Did everybody sign the petition to get Meat in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
I did. I think he belongs there, would be SO cool :D

I've voted with 3 different e-mail accounts, got confused tho first time as i had selected all my winners and hit the register button. I didnt know you had to register your vote for every category one at a time... i think that might full people into thinking they've voted for everything but havent. I know i thought you just hit the register vote button once at the end but obvoiusly its after every category you vote in...something to watch out for!

Yes Guppie it would .. and even though not all 500 registered members of the forum are regular visitors here, we should be able to get quite a large number of names on the petition and letters to the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee if everyone who does post here takes the time to support Meat's and lobby for his induction.

I've voted in the Capitol Gold Awards .. but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a even bigger honour, and if everyone suports this I really think we should be able to get Meat in there :)

Over 500 members here. I think that amounts to about 50 active readers and 25 active posters.
Just an estimate.
If I compare with the Dutch form: 93 members, 20 readers and 10 active members. But still... that should lead to at least 70 entries for your petition, from mlukfc.com and meat-loaf.nl alone. And then there's the German fansite, also well visited...
Let's wait and see what happens. 8)

Why can't people vote for both....problem solved. I dont think its right Caryl to ask people to vote for Legend and not really care about Capital. For CHSIB to win best album of the year would maybe make Mercury take note..which it was you who critisised them so much.

Nor do I think that would be right. Nor did I do that, nor suggest it.

Guppie had written:

And I replied to this point and added that I'd already voted for the Capitol Gold Awards (several days ago in fact) and said that entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was an even bigger honour, and that if everyone supported this we should be able to get him into it.

Nowhere did I suggest that anyone should not vote for both, nor did I "ask people to vote for Legend (whatever that is) and not really care about Capital." .. and I'm somewhat taken aback that you should suggest this. The Hall of Fame is, however, a huge honour and I make no apology for saying that it is. But to say one honour is even bigger is not to say I don't care about another, any more that saying for eg that BOOH is Meat's most successful album would be to suggest that the other albums were without value or merit.

As to saying it was me who criticised Mercury so much .. I seem to recall many people did this .. I was in good company, yourself included I think. Have a pop at me by all means .. but let's keep the facts clear. I have never discouraged anybody from voting for Meat in any honours poll whatsoever, nor would I ever do so, and if you're suggesting I would then shame on you.
