Meat's okay right? Some idiots on the thread about the Convention (It's a comment on his FB wall from May 2) saying his "health is failing". (I corrected them)
Could just as easily chalk it up to a possible scheduling conflict or or doesn't wanna travel because his back isn't getting better yet.

I saw those posts last night ... idiots is right :( I have a feeling you're right and it's about Meat not wanting to travel. Dallas wasn't as far from his home as Orlando is.
He was in pain throughout the last one he did; he is a good actor! But the recovery from his last back surgery is a long and painful process, However, I did see on a thread somewhere that several other names have cancelled, so there may well be more to his pulling out of the Orlando one than just his back .. it's a good way off when you think about it.

Given how the last convention run by the same company was run there (Star Wars Celebration) its no wonder people are pulling out...

According to this link Meat is filming a new tv show :
http://io9.gizmodo.com/meatloaf-and-vincent-d-onofrio-are-co-starring-in-a-syf-1794885577?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=io9_facebook
so it very well could be a scheduling conflict. The show sounds intriguing, and I'm just so happy that Meat is able to get back to doing what he loves :D
Yes I saw that :) Syfy has made a deal for Ghost Wars, a paranormal action series that will reteam the network with Van Helsing producer Nomadic Pictures. Vincent D’Onofrio, Kim Coates, Avan Jogia, Kristin Lehman and Meatloaf topline the 13-episode series, which like Van Helsing will premiere in the U.S. on Syfy and elsewhere globally on Netflix. Set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces, the series focuses on local outcast Roman Mercer (Jogia) who must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.
"“Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases. Science, Humanism, Religion and the Paranormal all get a seat at the table. I’m grateful that Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev have assembled such a wealth of talent, both in front of and behind the camera, to hopefully elevate this genre series beyond expectations.”
Simon Barry (Continuum, Van Helsing) creator of the series.
However, production is underway now in Vancouver, and as a 2017 bow is planned, filming may well be done by the time the expo he's cancelled takes place.
Hes also filmed Ghost Wars right now for SyFy as a lead actor. Id chalk it up to scheduling

Yeah he's fine. Looks like he's ramping up his film & tv career! Exciting times. Hopefully his back starts healing and being less painful!

Slightly off piste, but he had a cameo role in an episode of Elementary a few weeks ago.
I'm sure we're way behind the U.S.?

We're a few weeks behind the US with that series, it aired a few weeks ago in the UK.
It was a small cameo as well.

Dr Watson has blogged " Mr Holmes is absolutely thrilled to have finally become the second member of his family to work alongside the fabulous Mr Loaf, following Meat's past collaboration with his sister, Cher Lock"

For those who were worried it seems it really was a matter of scheduling!
