Ok, just a thought :? The mysteries of the internet have brought us all together in this Meat Loaf sanctuary, however as we come from different countries and indeed continents, turns of phrase, dialect, humour, meaning of words vary a lot. So I thought, maybe we could build up a data bank, which we could refer to if needed.
e.g. if I were to write I'm off to have my nosh - our european and transatlanic friends could look up and see that I was going for something to eat, and nothing more sinister.

What do you all think?

And if it takes of can we have it as a "sticky" pretty please?

Sin... i like the idea... We already have a Dutch Lessons Topic... so then you can see what we mean.

Wait for other reactions...

 I like the idea in principal 8) .
Don't know if it should be a sticky  .The Dutch one isn't.
We'll try it out and see how it goes,it can always be made a sticky later if neccersary  .
What i'll do is start a topic and leave an empty post at the top that I can edit.
That way, whatever words are asked about and answerd can be added alphabeticaly to the main database at the top of the page for easy access  .

yep good idea, Mouse, my thoughts were a bit more than the Dutch Topic, a bit of a multi lingual interpretation kit - I know some people don't understand our English sayings and some of the Americanisms lose me totally so we could share things we get stuck on

 Hi Sin.
I like the idea, but I think too much info in one place would be counter productive. How would the information be listed? 8O
I've started the English Language database.Perhaps if there is enough need for these topics,R. would consider starting a language forum?
