View Full Version : 10th Anniversary of Bat Out Of Hell 2
Does anyone remember the exact date when Bat 2 was released in the US? I think it was in September 1993 if I remember correctly. And here we are, ten years later, hoping that CHSIB will have similar (or better) success!
Does anyone remember what singles from Bat 2 were released and when, and where they got to on the singles chart? AFL made 1, didn't it?
Billboard.com lets you see the charts from 10 years ago, so it might be fun to look back at the charts from that time and watch Bat 2 climb the charts all over again.

I know that it was before September. I'm pretty sure that it was July or August. I know that I had it well before my daughter was born in October of 1993.
Maria
It was the 6th of september 1993, on a Monday. Here in Holland it was a beautiful day. the sun was shining. I will never forget that day.
bat 2 was a worldwide release with a mass marketing campaign. They spent millions on it to sell.
Wow!!! So Bat 2 is already 10 years old??? My god.. time flies!!! But still, it is, with bat 1, the best album ever made!!

Hopefully Bat 3 will be the same...... depends on the record company. I would love to see Meat sign with Jims "Ravenous Records" record label for Bat 3. Since its also Jims album, he'll perhaps invest loads of money from Ravenous in making it a success! Either that or Virgin would be my 2 picks for Bat 3. I can't see a reason why but that Meat wouldn't join Jims Label...it all makes sense....then the success and PR of the album rests in their own hands....
I have a silver disc commemorating the 10th Anniversary of BAT out of Hell 1 - this was bought through the old fan club, maybe something like this could sorted for Bat out of Hell 2?

I don't know. I am getting some nice, warm, fuzzy feelings from Sanctuary over here in the US. They seem to be doing the SMART thing for Meat!
ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!!
What exactly are they doing?

On the subject of release dates, Sky has recently added a new music channel called The Vault, its really good (compared to the usual rubbish) and plays mainly old, proper music. As well as Meat, see Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, etc.
Anyway, the other day I was flicking thru and saw the BOOH video, obviously I eagerly watched along to the end. On this channel at the end of every video they show Song name, Artist name, song release date and highest chart position reached by the song. Only on this they put release date as 1993!!!!!!!!!!!! Try a good 14 years earlier!! They must have got mixed up with BOOH2, but still pretty funny!

Are you from the UK? If so, read The Flying Mouse's post above re BOOH.

Yeah I'm from the Uk, however that was only a re-issue, really if they're putting release date there it should be the original release date - then people get to see what an everlasting song it is!

That is completely twisted that "Objects" never got higher than #26! (I'm assuming that's the UK charts- I'll have to look into how it fared in the US) That is such a stunning song, there was something very wrong with the music buying public at that time for it to only hit 26. Wow!

 You're very welcome Michel :D .
I think Choccybat is right. It really should be the original release date :? .
I agree Sherrie. It was a very disapointing position for such a great song :( .Especially since two different editions were available  .
