Hi all,

This isd my synopsis for a possible ML musical. I'm gonna have trouble doing Act II, so please help me!!
:? I plan to use the following songs:
CHSIB
Paradise (grand finale)
Modern Girl
All Revved Up (so i've got the whole BOOH album, basically)
Objects (part - maybe chorus only)
Anything For Love
RNR Dreams

If you have any ideas then please PM me (I'd prefer thisto avoid spoilers) or post a message on the board. It must be 7 scenes and last about 40-60 mins.

Thanks very much!! :D

ACT ONE

SCENE 1: A small dark room/Marvin’s flat, modern day London. Overture: (Back Into Hell) As the overture plays, the lights come up slowly as a group of four young men and a girl (Marvin, Martha, Ricky, Johnny & Charlie) come in and get into their positions. Song ends. A member asks ‘is it safe’ and the girl says yes. They have been chased and are exhausted. They freeze and the girl (Martha) marks the moment by saying that they worship the mythical ‘Bat Out Of Hell’. The Bat is said to have chased an evil sorcerer on a motorcycle away from the earth. One day he will return. They all wear a special necklace with the Bat on it, but the cult is a secret. Martha is in love with Marvin (group leader), but he’s not single (He’s with policewoman Patti). The first song is 2/3 Ain’t Bad. The five decide to go to the local pub.

SCENE 2: The pub. The barman, Ken, is talking to Charlie. Ken asks Martha what her necklace is, but she’s not allowed to tell him. Charlie sees a girl and goes up to her, singing Dead Ringer For Love. Tom comes in with the paper. The headline is ‘PETER MCCOY ESCAPES FROM PRISON’. McCoy was Marvin’s friend, and was put inside for a robbery. Johnny is a policeman, and is in uniform looking for him.

SCENE 3: A back alley. Johnny and Patti are looking around. They hear ‘If Only… If Only…’ repeated again and again. Johnny suddenly drops dead, and McCoy comes in singing ‘A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste’, seducing Patti. The newly formed duo plans to destroy the Cult of the Bat (they know what they shouldn’t), and leave the stage.

SCENE 4: A city Street EXT: Red bus. The gang have just heard about Johnny and Patti. They’ve found Johnny’s body, but Patti’s gone missing. They begin talking about death, and Martha sings ‘Heaven Can Wait’ with Ricky. They realize that they need a fifth member. Patti then walks in and says that she was kidnapped. She doesn’t know who by. Marvin suspects McCoy.

SCENE 5: A restaurant (The Waiter in this scene will be played by Ken). Marvin and Martha sit down. Marvin tells Martha about the Cult and she pretends to be interested. He then asks her ‘On a hot summer night will you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?’ He sings ‘Took The Words’, but Patti is bemused.

SCENE 6: Old Warehouse (McCoy’s Place): McCoy is writing in his diary. He does the ‘Wasted Youth’ speech, then sings ‘For Crying Out Loud’.

SCENE 7: The flat. Patti and Marvin are center stage. Patti swears an oath to keep the cult a secret. Marvin then sings ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ to her, oblivious of the fact that she is working with McCoy.

Because i'm crap at naming characters when i'm writing (the wife can name the kids!!) - these names are temporary  This isn't meat anyway, it's about a cult (well, a small and private religion - no sacrificing animals here) His name isn't marvin anymore.

ACT TWO

SCENE 1: McCoy’s Place. Patti visits McCoy. McCoy proposes to marry, and Patti accepts, though it must be kept secret. He sings ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Dreams’ to her. He tells her that it is time to dispose of Marvin. McCoy leaves, and Patti realizes there’s a message in that song (You can’t run away forever, but there’s nothing wrong with getting a good head start…)

SCENE 2: The local park. Marvin and Patti are having a picnic. Patti is desperate to tell him her secret, but is terrified of getting into trouble. Marvin and Patti sing ‘I’d Lie For You’

SCENE 3: McCoy’s Place. McCoy is in a chair, reading a book. He does a speech where he say’s he’s wondering how Patti’s getting on. He plans to kill her too, as he wants a ‘Modern Girl’. Marvin and Patti’s heard all this. The spell’s broken. The boys fight over Patti with the triiet version of ‘Couldn’t Have Said It Better’. Marvin wins, and McCoy vows his revenge.

SCENE 4: Marvin and Patti’s wedding reception. There is the usual goings on, the discussion of the demise of McCoy etc. Then, in comes McCoy signing ‘All Revved Up.’

SCENE 5: The final scene is ‘Paradise By The Dashboard Light (Paytti & McCoy)’, with all the usual theatrics, and hilarious ending.

I went to see Tonights the Night, the Rod Stewart musical, earlier this week. It was excellent.

A Meat Loaf musical would be absolutely brilliant. :D
