I know that ML's fans cover a wide age range. Yesterday i was at a party talking to a friend of a friend about music. When I told her that I was going to the concert in Manchester she told me that her mother in law was a great fan of Meat's music - and she is 75 years young. 8)
I know that I get funny looks from people when I am waiting at traffic lights with Meat Loaf pounding out of the car, so I can imagine the looks that she must get. Do some of the younger end think that you lose your appreciation of good music as you get older? I have only one thng to say - if ML can continue to make good music at his age then I can continue to listen to it as loud as I want. :P

At 53 years young I will never, ever stop appreciating music, especially Meat Loaf.

Music is always there for you, through the bad, and the good times in your life.

Some of my Year 8's love to chat to me about Meat Loaf, and are always asking where's your jacket miss with the Meat Loaf badges on/ they think I'm cool 8)

Thats certainly a very good point to raise though KittyKat, be interesting what anyone else has to say.

Right you are Guppie :))
I'm exactly the same way .. 41 years young and love to play Meat's music VERY LOUD

When I went to the show at The Borgata, most of the fans were probably about our age. But there were some really young kids and a lot of older people there too .. the demographics of his audience is really fascinating :))

When I drive into the parking place at work people don't have to look who is coming there .......they can hear me coming !!!! But that does'nt affect me at all. I'm always the one that make people smile when I'm going to work. Just because Meat is playing so loud. :D

Glad to know that there are others like me. All my neighbours know when I am driving down the street. When I go to my sons he says he can hear me coming. He is 27 and also a Meat Loaf fan. He has probably absorbed it by osmosis without even realising it as I have been playing ML's music for the majority of his life.
Funny thing though, Meat Loaf's music is the only music that I can stand to play loud. There must be something special about it as anything else played loud is just noise. :D :D :D

I think it's great that so many ... err .. trying to stay away from the word 'oldies' here. How about longer-living persons? Yeah that'll do. Anyway I think it's great that you love Meat.
I don't really know how many shorter-living persons there are who share that love. I know there are a few on this site and there may well be more than I think but none of my friends share my love of his music, I don't think they know anything about him, which is a shame. Though I remember once one of my friends started dancing when it was playing in the car.
I think it's wonderful to hear people as old as 75 are rockin' to Meat. No one's ever to old to rock and no one's ever too old to appreciate good music.

I am always surprised when i play Meat in the shop as to how many of my old dears say, "Ooo, I like Meatloaf",

A few weeks ago we were giving away free CD's with the Daily Mail and one of the tracks on it was Bat. A lady of advancing years (about 75ish) was looking adn said, don't think that is the sort of thing I would like. Her friend Sue who is older than her looked and said "Look, Its got Meat on it. I'll take two!!!!"

i remember how my mum and grandparents got into meatloaf,
was when he was on "its a knockout"( im sure you remember it...)
and they were commenting how nice he was!
there after on car rides it would be a mixture of slim whitman,
perry como, and meatloaf!

Well I'm 25, and it seens like I'm at the younger end of people on this forum so far. I certainly don't think that older people lose their appreciation of good music. In fact, I think older people have a better appreciation of music. The young people (teens and younger) are into the manufactured stuff and stuff without a real instrument in it.

I would agree shane,
when pixie dust told her friends she was going to a meat concert
they thought it was amusing, and asked her why she couldnt go to
a real concert!!!

Looks like it Tim,
but this old fart is in Cleveland, ready to ROCK tomorrow night.

Age is really irrelavent when it comes to appreciating good music like ML.

I think on the last thread I totaled the ages and teens and twenties were most prevelant here. Go figure, some older folks are finally admitting their age.

Don't care , I'll admit I'll be 48 in a few weeks. I will be there tomorrow night and enjoying it as much as anyone else could possibly.

Will let you know how it went.

Regards,
T

I'm 34, and I was rather surprised to see a 7th grade student (about 12 years old) walk into the library with a Bat 2 era concert shirt. Between that and my 6 year old son's intense love of CHSIB, I am convinced that age is no factor in being a Meat Loaf fan
