"Ananova:
Robert Palmer dies of heart attack
Singer Robert Palmer has died in Paris of a heart attack.
The 54-year-old star, whose hits included Addicted to Love, suffered the attack in the early hours of this morning, his manager said.
He was on a two-day break in the city with his partner, Mary Ambrose, after recording a TV appearance in the UK. "

I saw that on the news this morning and I was quite saddened to hear it. I did like his music alot in the 80's. It's hard to see these people die at a young age

Man, this hit me right in the gut- absolutely made me ill. I'll never forget his 80's hits, solo and with Power Station. As a dyed in the wool child of the 80's, "Addicted to Love" is part of the soundtrack of my high school years. Between him and Joe Strummer, I think there may need to be some sort of cardiac rehab foundation started for 50-something rockers!

2003 has been a sad year for music fans everywhere, what with Strummer, White, Cash and now Palmer. Whilst I'll admit that some of these aren't as musically inspirational as the others, it's still depressing.
