Hey Guys,
What do you do when people make up REDICULOUS rumours about Meat and then expect you to respond to them?
It happens all the time at my house, (I have roomates who enjoy pestering me to no ends) at first I just laughed it off, or ignored them alltogether...but it's getting REALLY annoying.
Any thoughts?

Take them out and shoot them :D (Just joking!)
I find that if people see that whatever they are saying doesn't bother you, they tend to leave you alone. It's hard to do but if you can pretend that it doesn't bother you, they will eventually leave you alone.

I'd say the best tactic is to ignore it. When you don't respond, the fun will wear off soon [/textbook reply]
It might sound like a terrible cliche, 'cause it is. But it oughta do the trick all the same.
"simple things, simple minds!!"
Ignore them and they will quickly get bored and move on to something else!!!
Failing that, some poisons can be virtually undetectable......

 which poisons?
Just kidding, You guys are probably right. It's just frusterating to feel like you constantly have to defend your preferences in music. Ah well we can't ALL have good taste. :P
Thanks guys, you've brightened my day

Please don't tell me what knob rot is, especially the galloping sort  !!!
Anyway, what you could do is remind them that he has the 5th best selling album of all time (Bat 1), the biggest selling Metal album of all time in the UK (Bat 2), the biggest number one single of the 90's (IWDAFL), the best songs, and above all, more talent in his little finger than all the other artists out there at the moment put together!!!! :P
Right.
That's my little rant over :)

ahh you are so right Trex, alas, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it listen to decent music...er...something like that.
I agree that not responding is generally the most effective way of dealing with adolescent tendencies in the male of the species (I live with 3 boys-all musicians) but in this case, my not responding is lessened by the egging-each-other-on...this seems to be what keeps it going, the let's-see-who-can-say-the-most-innapropriate-thing...and it's so childish that it gets to me...
On a positive note, I don't want to jinx it- but I may have landed a role in a movie! (not talking, dancing-well, sort of) I'll write more details when I know for sure...fingers crossed!
Ialso dont want to know what it is, 8O Dottie your a gem you make me laugh, :D your soooooo funny.

'scuze me, but since when is Bat II metal? Bat II has nothing to do with metal... hard rock at the most, but metal? Albums like Metallica's Master Of Puppets and Maiden's The Number of the Beast are metal... but Bat II?
(sorry, but as a metalhead myself - I just can't see why anyone would even consider Meat to be 'metal' -- appart from hiring an established metal guitarist, that is)
And besides... your approach seems to me as a flat out invitation to really continue the annoyance.
No Dottie Trigger hasn't come home yet, he is either a, taken back by the mother ship, b, run away to be the new Felix model. or c, a star I'm sure he is the black & white cat on the Morrisons' ad that's eyeing up the fish.I couldn't get a good look at his feet!!!!

(I'll post here before I call my mom! :D ) Too bad this isn't a Meat film, *hint* I don't think Meat does horror films...
Good luck fingers crossed
for you, I think Wishcraft was meant to be a horror film????

ok, well Don't tell anybody- 'cause I don't know for sure yet, but I may be one of the 'undead' for the film "resident Evil 2" - they want trained dancers because the fight scenes are very aggressive and the choreographer hasn't been happy with what the actors were doing, so it's very hush-hush, but I could be filming as early as this week-- I'll let you all know!
Cheers!

8O 8) Wow LD! That's soooooooo cool!
evil nickname - I agree totally it's not a metal album, I also have never heard such a bad description of a rock album, but it is what it says in the Guiness Book Of Records :?
You're probably right about having a rant continuing the annoyance. Still, every now and again it doesn't do any harm to "get it off your chest" :)
