And I sure ain't in it for the wealth.

Meat,

I'm a big fan of yours
I'm also a big fan of Jim's work
I love most of the stuff you did with and without Jim
I love most of the stuff Jim did with and without you
I believe you when you say you never did or will do anything just for the money
but I'm not freaking believing this:

trouble makers from that stienman site. They hate the fact Jim and I are doing Bat III,

Pardon me, but that's not true. Or I'm reading a completly different board than you do. Yes there are some troublemakers there, but they don't (all) hate the fact you and Jim are doing Bat III. I would even say that most are thrilled you guys are doing that... I know I am.

But what I'm really not wanting to believe is that you, the one who a couple of months said something about getting the facts right, said the following:

They go everywhere and causse trouble and some of you seem to fall for it, in fact the person who posted from that message could be from that site ,their here all the time saying nasty little things.

So, to you, everyone who says something what is not totally positive about something you do, is from the Jim Steinman site? No wonder that board has a bad reputation... but I tell you, and please believe me, it's not true that 'we' go everywhere and cause trouble. As far as I know, there are only very few visiting both boards on a regular basis, while posting on both. I am one of them, and I, am at a total loss for words. Is that really what you believe, or have I fallen for it?

I would have thought that you'd be getting your facts right. Well, I just don't know anymore...

pfloyd .. correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the second thread you've started with some negative stuff you've heard about Meat?

Anyone who is hugely successful will always have s few small minded people wanting to say negative things about them. You say you're a great fan of Meat's. Just ignore stupid comments you hear. If you're a fan you'll know that Meat is driven by the desire to create and make things work and make them work better each time. He's one of the least acquisitive and most unpretentious stars you'll ever come across. Money would never be his motivation .. he could walk away right now, live in comfort and play golf for the rest of his days .. that he doesn't is because he loves the work. That he loves the work is a blessing for us.

Good on you CarylB, and well said Meat Loaf!

We KNOW you don't just do it for the money (but I bet it helps, right??? ).

No one who works as hard as you could ever be said to be turning his back on his fans (or hers of course, you are also Mr PC!).

I'm surprised that some Jim fans don't like the idea of Bat3, but that's up to them. Don't let them tear you down. We won't.

Hi again everyone, been busy traveling and working. Was lucky enough to attend the WI, IA, Cleveland, and Detroit shows. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every show. Cleveland was magic!

I will admit tho, Detroit wasn't as good a show musically as the other three. However, Meat made up for it with a ton of humor and fun! How someone can say he doesn't have it, doesn't understand performance. No the vocals weren't 100%, but after 4 shows in 5 days, I'd be lucky to talk.
Great US tour, looking forward to the next leg, good luck in OZ and Europe!

okay..now in order to get it down to basics..as i do..because i can't write eloquently... :-) .. barely in fact...

let's take Meat down to the common man level..as me mum would...putting his pants on one leg at a time... (tink pauses as she ponders the picture in her mind a moment...yasss...)

okay..uh hum...singing and acting is what Meat does for a living...it's his job...and he's good at it..and most important?... he loves what he does for a living....therefore puts his all into it....

so..bottom line...yes...he makes money...because he sings and acts for a living..it's what he loves to do and what he chose to do for a living...

i can never understand why this "money" business comes up...

btw..did i mention he's pretty dang good at what he does?

Turned is back on US fans? He must have done that US tour there recently and no one turned up!! Don't believe everything you hear.

Christine...

You say no one showed up for the Meat Loaf tour in America?

I was at the last three shows (including tickets for Columbus that was cancelled *grrrrrr*) and ALL of these shows were "SOLD OUT" prior to show time!

America has definately NOT turned their backs on Meat Loaf by any means. And sitting (screw that, who can sit at a Meat Loaf show), standing in the third row in Cleveland, I could see the absolute joy in Meat Loaf's face as he performed for the city that loved his music first.

ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!!

I will admit tho, Detroit wasn't as good a show musically ... However, Meat made up for it with a ton of humor and fun! How someone can say he doesn't have it, doesn't understand performance.

I would have to agree with you 100% on this one.

I was in row three in the center section in Cleveland, and was in row 23 (with some major view obstructions) in Detroit. I found the music quality (band & vocals) was much better in Cleveland. I know Meat seemed to have much more energy in Cleveland than he did in Detroit, but then again, he had just done four shows in five days! JEEZE! I sang three Meat Loaf songs at the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach as the opening act for the Rocky Horror Picture Show and was flat on my back until it was nearly time to Time Warp, I can just imagine the things that are going on, physically, with Meat, during a tour like this.

Guys, let me tell you something about this show. FORGET everything you ever knew about Meat Loaf when you go to see this show. This reminds me a lot of the early to mid 80's tours when Meat did none of the slow songs and took little to no time to chat with the audience in between songs. In retrospect, I can say I cannot say I was not disappointed at all with either of the two shows I was lucky enough to see on this tour. The band is WAY much better than the band on the Just Havin' Fun Tour could ever have hoped to be! Despite the vocal problems he has mentioned on this board, Meat Loaf's vocals are just amazing during this show.

This is a tour you CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS if you are a Meat Loaf fan! Further, this is a tour you HAVE TO SEE UP CLOSE to gain a full appreciation for. It is a shame that people have to go through ticket brokers and eBay to get the good seats, but the extra money is well worth it for this show. After "suffering" through a show back in row 23, I will never do that again. The only way I even knew Mark Alexander was there was by seeing him on the video screen, thankfully Renee comes to the front during Testify or I would not have seen her either. The view from my seat was HORRIBLE! Meat performs mostly on the edge of the stage, and I know there were people sitting in the section I was sitting in that said they did not see Meat at all during the show. I felt very detached during the show (on whole) and missed being able to see the interaction between Meat and the band.

But all in all, both shows I attended were good shows. I just don't think that the mojo was working as well in Detroit as it was working in Cleveland.

ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!!
