WE'RE OFF!!!

First UK concert at Birmingham tonight, and we'll soon be off for a wonderful evening with the greatest entertainer in the world .. imo and that of quite a few others here :))

I hope those lucky enough to be meeting Meat backstage have a wonderful time. My friend and I have great seats in the front row. I don't care what Meat chooses to sing, because I know I will enjoy every golden moment of every song. He may use some familiar lines because they are good and work well .. I am sure there will be new ones.

I will probably not notice if he misses a note or two, because I shall be swept away on the magical ride that is Meat Loaf in Concert .. a journey I consider myself so fortunate to be able to take. Some people have not been able to see him yet, some will not be able to. I am one of the lucky ones, and I consider it a privilege.

I just know that tonight Meat will take me all the way in a wonderful show, as he has done every time I've seen him over the past 25 years. His voice is different now to what it was in 1978 .. I expect this. It is deeper and more mature, and every bit as great. Tonight he will give his all and then some, as he always does. And that is more than enough for me.

I'll just add the rider that lest anyone thinks what I've said makes me a sad, obsessed sycophant, I don't give a Rhet Butler for their opinion. I'm a Meat Loaf fan, I'm proud of it, and I consider myself lucky that tonight I shall experience what every Meat fan loves the most .. an evening with the Man .. :)

I'm Off to Birmingham as well in a few hours time. It's a family affair for me, going with Mrs Bob & both sons (they're getting a good musical education!)

For me it will be my first Meat Loaf Concert. I've been buying his albums since Bat out of Hell, and when I saw details of the Tour I bought tickets straight away.

My rider is aimed at all those who have repeatedly posted here that I am obsessed, sad and sycophantic every time I post anything positive about Meat. It's a cap I appreciate fits you, but not limited to you, nor aimed at you exclusively.

As long as I have no protection from verbal abuse (because words like sad, obsessed and sycophantic are just that imo), apart from having threads I post on locked, I shall pre-empt them when I post about Meat in this forum.

I offer no abusive words in return, I have never done so. However I am tired of being singled out for this, merely because I love Meat, support him, defend him when I see fit, and I see no reason why I should accept them without demur. If they stop, then I shall no longer need to add the rider.
