I was playing the recent Meat Loaf CD in my dad's car the other day and he said he liked it! So, I have decided to introduce him to the wide world of ML and buy him a CD for Christmas. Anyone any ideas as to which one I should buy him first to encourage his interest?

Thought maybe I should start right at the beginning and get Bat out of Hell, but since he is nearly 60 I don't want to put him off with a heavy rock sound!

Advice welcome

Hi Louise,

I think that if your Dad likes the current CD he will probably like Bat. If I were you I would start with that one :D

Start with Bat 2 and go on from there. Maybe some concert tickets orso.... would be fun, can he see him live.

Why not start with The Best of... and then he can work from there.

Hmm, If he liked CHSIB, he would most likely like BOOH, I reccoment Bat 2. But, I feel Bat 2 is Meat's 4th best work. I really don't like rating the albums I have because, they are all so good.

I think if you want your Dad to hear what meat is really like then BOOH is the best one to get as if The Very Best of :D

I really would start with Bat 2. Because it's the best. . .

Try and get him the Australian edition of BOOH 25th Anniversary - it comes with a free Hits Out Of Hell DVD, with a lot of videos including BOOH, Read 'Em And Weep, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad, Razor's Edge, I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us and Paradise :D

And on the CD itself? There's a couple of live tracks (Great Boleros Of Fire intro leading into BOOH) and then there's Dead Ringer For Love.

BOOH or the very best of are prob the best to introduce him to meat, but then again any of them are good.......so hard to suggest just 1

I would go for The Very Best Of as it's got a great range of tracks
