Hi
I bought a 45 at the record shop which I haven't heard of before called,
"More Than You Deserve/Presence Of The Lord" released in 1974. I got it used and in excellent condition for 5 pounds . Is this a rarity , what would it be worth?
Is it the same song as performed by Meat Loaf? I didn't know that some songs were written around that time.
Bat was released in 1978 or so, that mean that they have written 4 years and than they releases an album? So that record of yours is like a promotion single or something?
To me it sounds very strange. But who am i?
More Than You Deserve is the name of a musical written by Jim Steinman that he asked Meat to be in, and the song he sang was also called More Than You Deserve. I don't know if Presence Of The Lord is a Steinman piece aswell, but I would have thought that the 45 you've bought is part of the promotion for the musical rather than Bat Out Of Hell. Ted - even if it's worth millions - please don't sell it! :D

I believe Presence of the Lord is an Eric Clapton song
In terms of value of the single I would say you have got a good deal. I have seen it exchange hands for substantially more than this though not so much recently. A copy recently sold on Ebay for five pounds. I was surprised it didn't go higher. Perhaps this is because the tracks are available on a 3CD "Rock Giants" compilation set?

I don't think you could retire on the proceeds of this single. What you really want is the Popcorn Blizzard 45 from 1967. Now that might be worth a couple of hundred pounds?

Actually, I have a CD called "Michigan Mixture" which has both Popcorn Blizzard tracks "Hello" and "Once Upon A TIme"
This is off the top of my head as I don't have the info in front of me so please correct me if I am wrong!
That 45 is one of the very early releases & is a tough find (I've been after it for a while & now annoyed I missed the copy of eBay!!) I remember seeing a 1994 price in UK Record Collector at £25 or £30 (provided this is the same release) - and I'm sure it would have gone up in price.
The Record Collector prices are generally reliable though they list the 2000 price of the Live In Europe 1982 CLEAR vinyl as something like £12 when most record companies list it for £100 - £150 (www.vinyltap.co.uk have 2 copies)
BTW - the Popcorn Blizzard releases with Meat performing (Michigan Mix & the single) are alse incredibly rare - I recall one selling on eBay over a year ago for over $150 (US Dollars)
Hope this helps :?

Yeah, well you need to send body parts in the post now! Personally, I'd only give arms and legs, but heck. I'd do anything for love! 8)
