…On december 8th 1980, John Lennon was shot by M.D. Chapman in front of his recording studios close to Central Park… I’d like to take this chance to bring this up again as John’s works and music mean a lot to me and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest singers/songwriters.
My love goes out to his family and friends, especially Yoko, Cynthia, Sean and Julian.
Never forget.

Imagine.
he was a great dude, and really did rock, and touched a lot of people. it was a tough time for my mother at the time where it was her birthday, and her favourite singer john lennon died, 2 weeks later her house burnt down. and something else, but yaa, december 8th was a sad day, but today, i hope my mom has a great birthday. and long live john lennon. :P
he will always live on in his music

He was shot at ther door of Dakota's apartaments, where he lived and Yoko still live there.
In this morning Chapman, like other fans, were waiting for John to sign a record, at the evening Chapman was still there and he shouted Lennon.
If you go to Central Park, there's a beautiful monument dedicated to the memory of John and of course the strawberry fields.... and when you walk through New York's streets you can see the spirit of Lennon, and you'll find a little park near Saint John the Divine where there's another little monument dedicated to him.

Imagine...to me one of the most 'true' songs ever written...I May be a dreamer...but once you 'let go' of your dreams...what is there to wish for!
All we can try is live our lives according to the principle in this song. We cannot change the world...only ourselves...
...NEVER forget, thank you, Wild Honey, for reminding me.

I was only 11 when Lennon was killed, but I'll never forget it. All the local radio stations (and worldwide, I would imagine) played nothing but Beatles/Lennon music for days. I remember I went to school with all the photos from the Time magazine article about the shooting pasted to my notebooks. I got Double Fantasy soon after, and played it endlessly. I can't believe it's been 23 years.
