View Full Version : You are a true Meat Loaf fan...

in the german Meat forum is a very funny topic, so I decided to start it here also (since I am an active member only for one month, I hope there was no topic like that before. If there was one, please close this one).
So let's start:
you are a true Meat Loaf fan...
-when your boyfriend looks like that  at the same moment you start talking about Meat (even when there are such important things like: Meat having the same heart-disease as yourself)
- when everybody who visits you in your appartment at first turns down the volume of your music
- when even your cell phone plays Meat (not talking about the Meat-pics as background of your cell)
-when you'll soon need another harddrive for your computer, because the first one is full of Meat-Pics (thanks to the ladys from "one for the girls")
-when your PC is nothing but a Meat Loaf Altar:background, screensaver, winampskins, endless playing of all your CDs stored as mp3,...
-when your boyfriend as an answer to your description of the superb opening of the first concert after the heart-surgery only says: the goal was shot by Roy Makaai (soccer player of a famous german soccer team) from a distance of only 5m
- when even your patients were asking you, if Meat has played the show on tuesday, december 2nd
- when you went up earlier in the morning, so you can check the web for the latest Meat news, before you have to leave the house at 7am
- when talking about somebody you can't remeber the name at the moment and therefore just saying:"the someone", your boyfriend automatically thinks you were talking about Meat Loaf- but this time you HAVE talked about someone else!
By the way: I would never ever forget Meats name

My family is in no doubt who my favourite is - we drove from Kent to Killarney in Southern Ireland back in the summer (what a journey!!). As I had been left to load the car, I also loaded the 6 CD thingy in the boot with 6 Meat Loaf albums! As the car was so packed (and what a shame the CD thingy couldn't be got at :D ), they had a short course on Meat Loaf appreciation!! Mother's revenge for being left to do the donkey work I say! Shame too that I couldn't find any decent radio channels whilst we were stuck on the M25 for hours and when we were driving through Wales!
'Him Indoors' is also moaning that I never clean out the inside of the car either, so I did before our holiday, and just happened to remove all other CD's from the glove compartment for good measure!

How about when you leave a message on your answering machine saying
Quote = my answering machine.
Hi.This is Meat Loaf.I'm afraid Neil can't make it to the phone right now, but if you wanna leave your name and number after the beep, then he's gonna get back to you......
(Plays from the album) Like a bat out of heeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
And yes.Bat is also my ring tone
- when even your pets can meow, bark or chirp the melodies of meat-songs (ok, when my cat tries, it doesn't sound like meat-songs but it tries hardly, when I play meat at home :D ) or the fishes move their fins in time with the music
- when you have a really loud "beep" in your ear after a concert but you don't care and you try to get in frontrow again a few days later, still hearing this "beep", because you want to be as near to the stage as you can (fortunately it disappeared a few days later, puhh!)

When you are shopping at K-mart and you get excited to hear " You Took The Word..." over the intercom and you forget where you are at. You start to yell and sing the words to it just as if you were at a concert. At the end of the song there is a crowd watching you and telling you not to quit your day job.

Your mother points out that all of your bf's have shared a vague similarity to a certain long haired singer
your coworkers supply "something about Meat Loaf?" when you can't remember what you were going to say to them
You smile at the grocery store and chuckle to yourself because you see a package of 'Meat Loaf seasoning'
People say "NO MORE MEAT LOAF!" when it's your turn to pick a CD at a party
People remember you from highschool as 'that chick who never stopped talking about Meat Loaf'

When your out to Xmas lunch like I was with Scotty and Roys family last Sunday, and everyone else is singing carols, and your asked to sing something of Meat Loafs, (but I dried up) or when friends come to our BBQ in the summer, and they know for sure I'll be playing a lot of Meat Loaf, Um am converting a few people slowly but surely.
Or when the pupils at school ask 'Miss where's your jacket with the Meat Loaf Badges'
And Mousie, I do exactly that, I know full well I have everything of Meats, but cann't resist placing his cd's to the front of the display, and then informing the assistants, 'you've only one left etc.,' best make sure you place some more out'
Um almost forgot I also go to bed with Meatie my teddy with his Meat Loaf T-Shirt, bought for me by a lovely lady on this Forum in U.S.A.
Also nearly forgot most of the records placed on the juke box are Meat Loafs too

When...
You go to a pub and you spend all your coins on the jukebox to watch the CHSIB video at least ten times...
You come back home to see your parents and remember to visit the local cd store where you used to go as a teenager and the store manager recognises you after 7 (!) years and says: "Are you still in this Meat Loaf thing?" - you nod and then "I have something for you!" 8)
You try to convert all your family without success and finally, while watching Meat performing 2 Out Of 3 for the twentieth time, mom says "It's beautiful... can you translate it for me?"
Your brother doesn't want to hear Meat anymore - he's a hip hop fan! - 'cause he says (in his own words) "Meat sings TOO LOUD"! (really?)
Your sister is fed up and tells you to stop talking about Meat and you say "Have you already forgotten Happy Bob in Zurich ?" and she smiles... 8)

both sets of our parents (60s & 70s) ask us...what happened to Meat Loaf (after the collapse).
you tell someone you are taking a trip and they respond...is there a Meat Loaf concert there?
you decide to forego your winter escape to sunny Mexico to go to London in Jan., because Meat is playing there!
