I did it once and it got it wrong
I had this sussed a while back . . .baffles me now as I forgot how it works. Good site.
Each time you complete the problem (add together digits of a two digit number and subtract result from original number) the result will be a multiple of nine. So you'll notice that each number divisible by 9 (9, 18, 27 and so on) all have the same symbol. Try it!

Scary at first!
Got my pen out - sussed it!
Tried a figure in the 10's, then 20's etc. and yes - when I checked the chart without clicking the crystal ball, all the symbols were the same on any given chart. The symbols change every time, but 9, 18, 27, 36 etc will always have the same symbol!
Very clever! I love these mathematical puzzels and have a book with more in.
