I've seen some interesting user names, and it made me wonder where y'all come up with them?

As for me, well, I'm a native texan, something I would never change. :D

20 Jan 2004, 19:26
Mine is from a Sam Shepard play:
"You gotta grab all the little broken-up, busted pieces of people's frustration...you gotta give it back to them bigger than life...you gotta be a rock'n'roll jesus with a cowboy mouth."

Double meaning too...I am a huge fan of a band out of New Orleans called Cowboy Mouth.....definitely worth checking out!

The Flying Mouse
20 Jan 2004, 20:44
 I can't remember where I heard this, but I heard that Bat translated into German is Fligermaus.Translate that back into English and you get Flying Mouse.I thought this was pretty cool so i picked it as my user name 8) .
Since then i've found out that I was completly wrong.Fliegermaus isn't the German word for mouse 8O .
Luckily when Meat was on the Dottie, oh sorry, the Graham Norton show  ,he mentioned that the word Fliegermaus is actually on the Russian edition of Bat.Lucky for me because i'd already been The Flying Mouse for too long and didn't want to change my name  .

It's "Fledermaus".
Flying Mouse sounds more like a mouse that got his butt kicked and therefore 's flying through the air - or as I've said somewhere before you could traslate this as flying chick. :p

Actually, after posting that poem to Pattie on the valentine's thread, that's a pretty acurate description to what happened 8O .

I see you put a lot of thought into your user name R.

Lady B
20 Jan 2004, 21:37
Mine's compliments of Tink and the family tree. I've worked on the tree for the last 27 or 28 years and a few years ago I came across a branch that went back to the 1620s in the early US colonies. One of those ancestors was descended from European royalty all over the place including Henry VIII (who was a cousin), Edward I (aka Longshanks and from 5 or 6 different children) and a whole bunch of others. Basicly, you name a country over there and I can trace to it somehow. Between a couple dozen Scottish, Irish, and English kings & queens and all the rest I lose track . . . But I'm way too far removed for any real titles anyway. Tink kind of nicknamed me Lady B for that reason.

Very true. :p

evil nickname
20 Jan 2004, 21:44
1) I needed the most evil nickname I could find
2) The Simpson's Halloween Specials kick butt

1 + 2 = eh... Evil!

20 Jan 2004, 21:45
Mine was the very first username I got when I got my first ever computer account when I started my first proper job, it's kind of stuck as a sign off on emails ever since....... I'm known by other names in other places and can't decide if I should ask R nicely to change it here as well, but then that may confuse some of you if I start wearing a disguise :D

R.
20 Jan 2004, 21:52

As long as nobody abuses this feature, you can change your username yourself.

[RDH]draconia
20 Jan 2004, 22:22
well my on-line name is from buck rodgers (80's show) [RDH] is from the unreal tournament 2003 clan Rabid Dogs of Hell

or i am also known a crazy-drac as i am crazy cow

but the main reason is that i LOVE DRAGONS (western ones that is the more evil looking the better)

Sapphire Lady
20 Jan 2004, 22:44
I have sapphire earrings that I wear alot :D

black dog
20 Jan 2004, 22:47
Mine is the first user name I had on the computer. Went through several I really fancied especially Shells but they'd all gone. As we have a black cat who was sitting next to me at the time I tried that which was obviously taken. The dog was sitting behind me and he was nearly all black so tried black dog and that was free. When I joined this site I discovered that Meat Loaf had been in a film called Black Dog so it was an appropriate name any way. I must say you lot are all a lot nicer than they were on the other site. I had a few comments about rubbing my belly.

dottie
20 Jan 2004, 23:39
Well once upon a time................I was called 'dotster' and I think something else before that, but I cannot think what it was............but now I'm dottie, my real name Dorothy  dottie by name and dottie by nature.

Funny thing was I didn't have the courage to post under my own name then, but now Ah thats a different matter

tukayaway
21 Jan 2004, 00:09
It should be Tukay Away, but I'm too lazy to type it!

I used to be Beef, then Beefburger, Beefy and then BeefCake. Then 2K, Tukay and finally tukayaway.

Beef rhymes with Keith, and when you are 6, beefburger is a pretty good nickname!

Then it was Beefy. I like Cricket, and I was an all-rounder like Ian Beefy Botham.

Then Beef Cake as a parallel to Meat Loaf, and also a South Park reference.

Then it was Tukay or 2K. My nickname needed bringing into the new millenium, so I became an upcoming R&B artiste. 2K because there are 2 K's in my initials.

Then tukayaway. It was just funny when my mate said it when we playing some driving game. As I drove into the distance, he just came out with it, and it stuck.

I seem to have more of a past than most

RSG
21 Jan 2004, 02:30
RSG, RSG can mean a lot of things.

Well I thought of Rock Star Guy, but that was too long. And some people called me Rock, which I didn't care too much for. So I used Rock Star Guy's initials.

RSG, it sounds good to me :p .

I feel that someday, I just may be a RockStar Guy.

I been setting my goals and being really determined, and I do things that will expand my goals. If I can't be this star, I will definetly be doing theatre. But If my goal comes true, I will try to balance my acting\singing career together. Sound familiar? No, I swear I ain't trying to copy anyone in particular. I just fancy Steinman's theatric work, and I fancy Meat's acting\sing. When two likes go together you can have a hell of a career. :P 8)

PS the only reason why I am now so determined in the things I believe in, is mainly because of the song DO IT! Definetly an insperation.

sherrie87
21 Jan 2004, 04:48
Wow, these things make a lot more sense when they are explained!
I'm Sherrie87- my name is Sherrie (yes, I am named after the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons song "Sherry:  ), 90% of the time that is what I'm called- apart from that, a few people call me Sher, which I also like very much. I added an 87 to it because that is the year that I graduated from high school and I am very into everything 80's- clothes, music, TV- I have been accused of being stuck in the 80's, buy that's not necessarily a bad thing!

Sherrie

BadAttitude
21 Jan 2004, 08:51
I started using the nick BadAttitude in 1994 or 95 I forget on the list that TMB and Susan had as I liked that song that Meat did and then I went into hibernation for a while trying to get my life on track in 1998.

I stated working in a min. - max. security man's prison in the substance abuse program in 2000 as a substance abuse counselor, and the inmates found out that I did not take any sh@t from them or was afraid of them and then one of the inmates that gave me the most problems said you now what Ms. K you are all right and you got a bad attitude. So for the next 1 1/2 that I worked at the prison everywhere I went I heard inmates say "How you doing Ms. BadAttitude", and the nick has stuck I met one of the inmates on the street oneday after he was released and he comes up to me and says, excuse me are you Ms. BadAttitude and I said yes and he said hey you are ok.

Oh, well only I would be crazy enough to work in a min.-max. security all male prision and end up with a nick name of Ms. BadAttitude. So when I came here to sign up and everything I picked was taken I said ok why not go back to BadAttitude, it has worked so far.
End of story. :D

Ageing Bat
21 Jan 2004, 16:05
Have been friends with Mrs Badcrumble for years, and my husband always refers to her as The Old Bat when she phones. She has always made a point of the fact that I am everso slightly older than her. Thought she would use the name Old Bat when she joined, but she didn't. Therefore chose Ageing Bat 'cos it sounded more refined.... Soooo much better than my old CB 'handle' when I was a teenager, which was Baby Bunny

By the way Skeleton - you're never over weight, just under height!

Puritan
21 Jan 2004, 17:33
I live in Banbury, Oxfordshire

At the end of the 16th Century, Banbury acquired a reputation for Puritanism. The Puritans disliked all religious images

"The inhabitants of Banbury being far gone in Puritanism, in a furious zeal tumultuously assailed the cross that stood in their market place, and so defaced it that they scarcely left one stone upon another" - Anthony Rivers

To this day the local football side, of which I am a follower, are nicknamed "The Puritans". "Puritan" seemed an appropriate username when I needed one that I would not forget!

Loafy Meats
21 Jan 2004, 17:48

Sherrie

87, was the year I was born :) and I am quite often accused in being in a time warp myself  . The 80's, there is nothing wrong with that decade, except for Madonna  sorry madonna fans.

Renegade Angel
22 Jan 2004, 01:24
I got my name from the Bad For Good album which was originally going to be called Renegade Angel, which I thought would have been a better name for the album - I have a great compilation tape of Meat Loaf/Steinman stuff that I made years ago and I called it Renegade Angel and I happened to be listening to the tape the day i signed up so i deceided to use the name.

ChrissybabezNI
22 Jan 2004, 18:34
I got mine cos my name is Chrissy, but its usually associated with a fellas name so I added the babez bit to the end so people can tell the diffs ( I hope)

Chaos
24 Jan 2004, 00:07
Chaos: Well. anyone who has ever played State of Emergency for the PlayStation2 will know why I chose this name. I think I probably have the highest score in history for Chaos mode. It's a very violent game but ironically, I'm totally the opposite kind of person to what my name suggests...

little_dancer
24 Jan 2004, 00:15
Well...

I'm around 5 feet 2 inches tall, and around 115 lbs so...LITTLE

and i'm a dancer so...Dancer

Hence: little_dancer

I know- very creative eh?

A Slice Of English
24 Jan 2004, 14:41
I get my name from my rather copious usage of the English language.

No seriously, I have no idea why I chose the name. If I'm a slice of English, I'm a fairly generous slice, weighing in at 190lbs and 6 ft tall.

Meh, I suck.

25 Jan 2004, 20:00
There's a song by U2 called "Wild Honey" which I like. Sooo... my name hasn't got much of a story to it.

27 Jan 2004, 17:41
I got my nickname when I used to work in the railway station at Peterborough. My name is Pat Lucas so I got called Plucas which in turn got shortened to Plukie. :)

Bigmomma
27 Jan 2004, 21:08
well i am not on the small side and i am a mummy, but my little girl used to call me momma ( as a lot of babys do when learning to talk) so i thought big momma was rather appropriate !

I now live in New Zealand and most people called me Pudding (short for Yorkshire Pudding see) because of where I came from. I tried being called Curry or Fish & Chips but it didn't quite work and I got some very funny looks, so Pudding stuck.

Ok I see lots of names on here and there. I see Tink, Pudding, Fire Ball, Radio Master. So in my eyes they probly mean Tink and Peter Pan, Pudding, meaning they like choclate or vanilla, Radio Master a Disk jockey, Fire Ball fan of Fantasic 4. So what does everyone name means I mean if I see someone like Travis w Redfish then they love Roadie. My meanings are probly wrong but i'm just asking thats all. So mines Blackkat13....meaning in no way Black Cat from Spiderman, I own a Black cat and I love the old movie The Black Cat and the # 13 is lucky for me. So what does your name mean?....the names I put down are one's I see on right now.

02 Nov 2006, 23:22
my name is simply my dj name
Fierce because i used to be a kickboxer, my trainer always said i was like a pitbull, small but fierce.
i tried to drop the name a few years ago in favour of a more feminine name but my regular bookings still advertised me as firece saying it suited me better and their regulars knew me as that so i guess i'm just stuck with it.

fireballgirl63
02 Nov 2006, 23:23
I was new to the internet at the time I joined and clueless about a name to pick. I knew that Meat was Fire Ball on here and I already saw a lot of variations of fan names on that - so I went with that fireball - Fan of, girl - that being what I am and 63 is the year I was born. And I've stuck with it on all the sites - so if you see fireballgirl63 - it's always me.

I chose this name because I really liked it.
I'm a Meat Loaf fan obviously and I'm a girl.
Just thought it had a nice ring and the one
on the end just represents the fact that I
am certainly one in a million:sneaky: !
No joking, I have no idea why I added the 1
probably because I didn't want to be told to
use another ID as that name is already in use.
No I because it makes me unique!

KebLou
03 Nov 2006, 00:15
Keb... It's time my name was changed but anyhoo.
How I ended up with it is, I went looking on the internet for a name that began with K and found Keb, which means King or something in one of the African languages... Suppose it fits in a way.

A Chopper is the name of a bike, but it's also the name for helicopters. I know these things, I used to fix them ;)

Pudding
03 Nov 2006, 02:14
WTF are you talking about?

If you're trying to say that Heli should be called chopper as in the bike, because it's an easier ride, I personally find that slightly offensive.

Anyway, to get this thread BACK ON TOPIC...........

A few years ago, i'd heard that on the front cover of Bat Out Of Hell, it says "Fliegermaus" istead of Bat.

Translated back into English, and you get Flying Mouse.

I thought this was very amusing (which shows you my kind of sence of humour   ) so when I joined mlukfc, I chose it as my user name 8)

I later found out from R. that this was completly wrong

Kept the name anyway because i'd had it too long, and liked it.

Salvation finally came when Meat was on Graham Norton, and of all things, it was mentioned that the word "Fliegermaus" is actually on the cover of the RUSSIAN edition of Bat Out Of Hell 8)

 Chopper Reid, the notorious criminal perhaps?

As for my user name here (and all places Meat Loaf related) it was intended a play on the obvious.

I am a Rocker, and I am really short (never made 5'). Sooooo ... Rockette (the pocket rocker).

When I discovered the history of the Rockettes, I pmsl at the thought of me being some sort of sex symbol or something. :D

Well Grasshopper came from the series Kung Fu, it was the nickname of Caine who got it from his Master. No I don't do Kung Fu I do Aikido. Aikido is one important part of my way of life. Tink know that and gave me the name. Here I am Grasshopper The Little Samurai - that's one reason why I call Meaty Sensei, the other reasom is: he is a Sensei ;)

I use my real name, and thanks to my friends at ROL, they brought a whole "genie" persona to life for me, and created the cool avatar I use. :))
I also love R&R Dreams, so it was a natural fit, to incoperate Meat as a genie, into the pic. :))
