 Hi folks.
As you may have noticed, there was a problem with the site this morning.
What happened was the site's clock set itself to 18th December 2002.
There is a (something like 20 second) layoff so you cannot post another message right after the last.
As the date was 18th Dec, most people had already posted messages since then so could not post a new message as you would be doing so BEFORE your last messages. That's why the time layoff kicked in.
The shoutbox was out of action as messages are only kept up for a very limited time and when you posted a message it was automaticlly a month old :lmao:
The PM service was still available, but your messages would date from 18th December so would not be at the top of the page.
I was trying various ways to let everyone know what was happening but thankfully the site clock corrected itself (?)
Luckily we seem to be back in buisness now 8) .
Thanks to Chris who helped me identify the problem (well actually told me what the problem was while I sat there screaming what's happening  )
Thank God for MSN

 As today is apparently 18th December......
Have a great night to everyone who's going to Wembley tonight (how's that for coincidence 8O )
And....

Thought it was me again  nearly threw a hissing fit
Thanks guys for sorting it out :D

Yes, it was all a bit freaky.
Loads of users were shown as being online - far more than are usually here at 9.00 in the morning. It was probably showing everyone who had been online on 18 December.
Glad it's sorted now.

Oooh! Think the problems started quite early - logged on at about 5:30, or rather tried to, and couldn't access any of the site - Timed Out.
Swore at the pooter, cos I was having a really bad day already (yup, the week's just got worse :( :( )
Good news is I'm going to the concert tonight

 I didn't fix it Dottie.I don't have access to the site database.I don't know how it was fixed 8O
I didn't see R. on line, although it's possible I missed him.As far as I can tell the site rightened itself :D
I must say, it's much easier moderating a forum when the members can't post :lmao:

I had problems trying to get on last night (of course it makes perfect sense because I'm 7 hours behind)
I kept getting "Page cannot be displayed". "Server cannot be found"
I was beginning to think that I was banned

It's doing it again  What is it with Dec 18 8O
And there was i gettin all excited cos i thought we had 50 users on-line....
Actually Heat I think it did :) .. if a load of people are on line when the server is backing up then it apparently crashes and has to be reset, and when this happens the clock needs resetting as a result.
Now I wonder what collective noun would best describe a load of people on line? .. a gabble of users is too vocal somehow .. perhaps a brothel of postwhores? :lmao:

Got to be brothel hasn't it. Surely that's where all postwhores would go :lmao:

I don't know what you were doing up at this time but know that my thoughts are with you.
I couldn't get on line at all last night tried from about 9.30. Got withdrawal syptoms so went to the other site and found other people there who couldn't connect either so it wasn't just me.
Glad it's back

Just like to say, to those who know me, and know the really awful time we're having at home, your love and support have been invaluable. You are all such a really kind hearted group of people on here.
Having trouble sleeping at the moment (worrying too much), so that's why I was online so early.
Last night's concert really helped me forget my troubles for a few hours - just what my brain needed. Thank you Meat - you've probably saved my sanity! (Not that I had much anyway!)
Glad the problems with the site appear to be sorted - what did you do? What pills need to be fed into the disk drive? By the way, I have my own version of how a re-boot really needs to be done (involves physical contact with foot - doesn't help the pooter, but relieves the stress for me!!!)

  it honestly wasn't me.....Heaven forbid
Yours faithfully
Gabriel
The forum is very slow the last day and thursday morning nothing worked. But I'm happy everything works at this moment.
