Hi all - it's my first post here, I've just discovered the board and I've been browsing lots of other topics, particularly those that Meat himself has got involved in...
...and I'm sure this thread has been done to death... but last thing I heard, Meat Loaf still had a reputation for being one of the hardest working men in music. I think it's very harsh indeed of the minority of detractors to lay into him, especially over such things as cancelling dates because of illness - anybody must know it would be a last resort, and that doing a bad gig is worse than doing none at all.
I'd like to think that the people slagging him off are aware of the PR concerns of doing a large tour, that there are MANY things to consider when deciding whether to go on stage or not, that doing one gig, let alone a world tour, is in incredibly exhausting ordeal, and that Meat is, despite everything, still only human.
I saw the London gig on the 24th Jan, and was blown away - it was the first time I'd ever seen Meat live and it was astonishing. I couldn't do a gig of that magnitude under normal circumstances, let alone if I was feeling under the weather.
Whats the story?
