My mother shocked me lol

Well ... it just goes to show doesn't it ... sitting visiting my mother, flicking through the music channels on Telewest Cable ... up pops the big man belting out Bat out of Hell (which I hadn't seen on tv for god knows how long). My mother is in her kitchen and shouted through 'Is that Meat Loaf' my reply was 'who else sings that song mum'. Oh she says, I like listening to him but I can't watch him. Then, and from my mother this is the BIGGEST compliment Meat could ever get 'HE HAS A LOVELY VOICE'. I was shocked as my mum is 71 this year and has always thought the music i listened to before i got married was 'just a noise' lol. Now, do I take down CHSIB CD next time I visit or do I just buy her one lol

My mom used to say that too and she's 49... :roll: and she admitted that she likes listening to him too... so, I made her a 'best of' cd and a CHSIB cd!
But NOW she's says that Meat is okay, actually her words were "he is still nuts but now HE LOOKS GOOD!"<----------- THAT is a compliment! :lol:

I think you should buy her the cd! I mean if she likes his voice and BOOH she's gonna love CHSIB!!!
My mum's 48 and she only likes the slow quieter songs, like why isn't that enough and two out of three etc etc etc.......(she's tone deaf and hates most of mine and my brothers loud music) lol.

Well my plan is to introduce her to CHSIB gradually lol. I think i will just take it down one day and put it on her cd player and see what she says ... if she likes it then that's her birthday present sorted lol.

I just can't believe after all these years she has ACTUALLY admitted she likes his voice *shocked and stunned is me*

My friend's mother is a meat fan and she is 75. Whenever she sees him on tv she sits there fanning herself.and going phew..She says 'gosh its warm in here - but I think is just cos Meat is hot.

Its such a pity that her great taste in music didn't rub off on her daughter.

Glad to see some others our age are learning to appreciate Meat! I'm 48, Jules is 47, have loved his music ever since Bat came out. Lordy, you are making me feel old now. :lol:
