hey maqggiemay!! ya beat me to it

This is our chance to show that we are the family and community we profess to be!

Vee has for numerous years supported Meat and his fans she has been dealt a real bum hand and it's not for me to go into the in's and outs of this.

she is facing a daily and weekly struggle to raise funds for medical treatment just to allow her to draw breath.

Many many friends in our Meat Loaf community have been supporting Vee with words of comfort and where possible hard cash.

I would ask each and every one of you to look at what you have and your own hopes and aspirations and ask yourselves if you can in anyway support one of our family in what must be the darkest time of her life.

If you can sign the card or if you can spare some cash, pay pal options have ben set up to facilitate speedily processing, as medication money is a weekly need. This doesn't have to be £000's a fiver of a packet of cigarettes less would all count - many people in the UK can take a cheque from you and make a pay pal payment if you can't.

One way or another words or cash lets lets show we are a family a community.

I've signed her on-line card already - unfortunately i'm not really in a postion at the moment to offer her more than moral support, but best wishes to her in any case...

Signed the card...was only able to buy one item from her...hope it helped a little...tried to get the price on several things up though!

Think this is Most important and we should all give whatever we can afford...this is about her health/life...we should Help, I agree!

In Sin's original post, there were comments made that "could" be taken as anti American.

Following a request via PM, I have edited these comments from her post.

For the record, I do not believe that it was Sin's intent to offend anyone.
I believe her comments were a frustrated stab at a goverment orginisation that is "seemingly" unable or unwilling to give Vee the suport she needs.

I'm sure we all wish Vee the very best for the future.

OK Thank you FM - I was PM'd by someone who had taken offence at my comments unfortunately I have not been on line until now and could not address this my self.

As for anti american - would I be actively supporting an ameerican citizen in her time of need if this was the case??

You are quite right it is the injustice of a government system that allows such a situation to occur, irrespective of where or who that may be.

We hear so much against the war on terror these days - I have been thinking recently that this can come in many forms - including the daily terror of how we are going to get from today to tomorrow and on into next week.

I was brought up with a saying "make sure your own back yard is in order before you start on someone elses"

For the record - I added the "if this causes offence" line to my original post because when Vee first made the cyber community aware of her plight she received some unpleasant emails which upset her. So I was aware that some cyber community members were not happy with the please going out within the community.

An update received indicates that recent treatment has greatly improved the situation and the fund raising over the last weekend appears to have resolved in the main the short term problems.

Aw heck Sin, I am American and I took ZERO offence at your post. I know the American health care system has a few issues- this is the system that said after my then 4 year old son had open heart surgery that a 5 day hospital day was "excessive". Nice.

As for Vee, I'm glad that she's beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel!
