I would find it quite interesting when you joined this board, with which post (except the ones in the "test me" area) and what was the reason you decided to join?
After the show in Trier in november, 2003 I browsed the web for Meatie-sites and found this one. I read only for a couple of days. Then Meat left this forum, but-luckily- came back after a few days. That made me so happy, that I joined wih the following message at november,12 2003:
Hi Meat!
I visited your show in Frankfurt (it was my first concert of yours, I had to wait at least 15 years).
I was so impressed by this great show, that I instantly decided to go to Stuttgart the next day. There you seem to have some probs with the "little man in your ear"-but that didn't disturb the fantastic show.
Till then I couldn't get enough of you- so I travelled to Trier- and that topped it all - it was at least 200% of the shows in Frankfurt/Stuttgart and I thought they were great!
After the three shows I searched the web and found this forum: very happy to see, that you share your feelings with your fans.
But then the big shock: you announced you will quit this forum
BUT TODAY IS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS IN MY LIFE: YOU ARE BACK IN THIS FORUM!!!!
Have a great time in UK and I hope you will come back to Germany next year
P.S.: In fact I joined at nov, 6 2003 but only with the intention, that as a member I would find the new posts better

"Well, I missed it did Mr. Loaf get on?"
That's my first post. Very un-ceremonial. I've no idea why I came here. . .stumbled accross it. Found drastically nice people. Decided to stay.

I have just sent a message asking if they will wish him a speedy recovery.
Let see if the do mention him.
This was during Children In Need when Meat couldn't perform due to ill health.
I joined because I found a site with lots of friendly people with a great diversity of interests with Meat Loaf being one they all had in common

Not terribly sure I would be able to actually SAY anything...but I'm sure I would be thinking...
"I want to take you in the back seat now and slowly drive you home..."
That was my first post.....sort of set a standard of lechery...oh well! Not all of us can be saints!
I found the site through a simple search.....liked the board a lot and the people even more...decided to stick around!

My first post was in the dim and distant past on July 16th 2001
Hi,
There was also a re-release of Bat in 2000. This was the original album with no extra tracks but was on a gold CD. I think it was only available in the UK.
The CD sleeve also unfolds to form the original LP sleeve with cover on one side and lyrics on the other side.
Also does anyone know who the other two people are with Meat on the original sleeve. I think the fella is Steinman but am probably wrong.
Thanks, Chris
YOU GOT NOTHING TO DO AND EVEN LESS TO LOSE
I have no idea how I found the site, not sure if i found it through the Yahoo club or found the Yahoo one through here!!!
The random line at the end of the post in caps was because the old boards didn't let us have sigs so we had to type them in for every post!!

I was getting impatient waiting for the Irish Dates to be announced for CHSIB Tour
2nd April 2003
Look I know Ireland is small, but what's the deal with getting a date for a gig over here. England get loads of dates (as usual), and Ireland gets one date (as usual) so when is it?????????????
I had found the Website in the back of Meat Loafs CHSIB album, so I thought I would give it a try.
Well I went to Meats concert 22nd Jan. We had just finished watching Kasim and just as Meat was on stage and Love, Death and an American guitar was on this man said your in my seat. So we go mad saying I've got my ticket this is my seat. Well it turns out we had turned up to the concert two days early but of what I say on that day it drove me mad I wanted to see the rest.
Does anyone else have any funny stories?
Well, the post says it all really.

I joined Feb 20 2003, most likely while illegally surfing the web while at work! I lurked for a while, then made my first post in early March.

I saw him in concert in the early 90's- I'm guessing it was 92 but it may have been earlier. It was, bar none, the best concert that I have ever been too (and I have been to MANY). It was at Jannus Landing in St Petersburg, Florida, an open air/open seating concert and I got there plenty early to get right against the stage. I remember the roar that went up from the crowd when Meat anounced that he was "working on" Bat 2! I would love to go back in time and relive that concert- no other concert since has measured up, and I've seen Billy Joel (x 6), Paul Simon, Dead Milkmen, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Garth Brooks, James Taylor, Huey Lewis and many others. I saw ML again just a few months ago, but it was in a Clearwater, FL concert hall and it was very different. Still great, but different. I think the open air, front row vibe of that concert at Jannus Landing will never be beaten for me. Oh to be 22 and in that front row again!

I was hooked from the start, once I "met" some really great folks here who have become genuine friends. (Not to mention the Mighty Meat himself!)

Wow,
I guess everything has been said I wish Meat Loaf and the Band the best World Tour ever and I really hope that they make it to Canada.
Keep on Rockin'

This was my first post. I had been lurking for quite a while before this. I was so excited at the prospect of possibly seeing Meat Loaf in concert again.

Can't remember how I found this site, or what my first post was. But I found it, I liked it and I'm still here :D
*thanks to Keb, who found my first post on here, but for the life of me i can't work out how to quote it and get it on here* :lmao: (it's those blonde moments again)
My very first post - all 1303 posts ago was....
got a phone message from Ticketmaster this afternoon stating that the concert was postponed (not cancelled!), and that they would advise when the date would be rescheduled for and to hold onto tickets as they would still be valid. I'd recommend that everyone who has tickets for tomorrow holds onto them until such a time as there is an official announcement that the show will not be rescheduled.
With so many ticketing agencies available these days, it's not surprising that information gets garbled, Ticketmaster, however are one of the more reputable agencies around and it's good to know that the extortionate "booking fee" sometimes pays for itself!
Although I'd been reading the forum since year dot I somehow only got round to joining last November, made up for lost time since mind you :D
This is my first pot. I kind of just jumped into the first interesting post and that was it. A Postwhore was born.

I love More than you deserve, but then again it really depends what mood I'm in. Like on the way to the concert i had bat out of Hell on full blast in the car and my window was open and it just gave me this great feeling!! Oh i can't decide. I usually go with albums. If i'm in a story kinda mode i'd go with Welcome To the Neighbourhood. Or if I'm feeling really theatrical i'll go for Bat 2. IfI'm feeling very original I'll go for Bat and so on etc etc!!

And you guys believe all this shit!!
Meat is talking a lot of b*llsh*t every now and then and we all know that JS writes very very very very very very slowly. And the production of an album is very very very very slowly as well. And how the hell the new single can come out in summer 2004 ! Meat starts touring in autumn this year. Common everybody! Don't believe everything meat is telling in interviews. He is just promoting the new album and if he says such things he knows he gets a lot of attention. So let's just wait for the next album in March and Bat II, well we see in the future what happend.
Above was my very first post and in a way i am proud on it cause it made Meat a member of this forum and it was his first reply on this forum! 8)

All I said in my first ever post was
My favourite video is I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth)
I originally joined the board because I wanted the I'd Lie For You video so I could get some help from some of the guys here. I was also trying to download it on Kazaa for two months. About 19 days after I first joined the board, I finally downloaded it on Kazaa. It took a long time but I never gave up. I've had it on my latop for 1 year and a quater and it never lets me down. Let's go behind the wheel boy!!! As time moved on, I enjoyed my time on the boards so I decided to stay (even though I had no intentions of leaving.)
FACT: I went to see Meat Loaf's concert in Dublin exactly a year after I joined this board.

A KISS IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE :D oh, and one question, is this site for people, in canada?
it was on the "If This Is The Last Kiss" thread
I posted it, becuz I wanted to join a club with Meat Fans like me. :D And talk to people about Meat who wouldnt roll their eyes at me. I don't remember how I found the site :? But I'm glad I found it :D
If you can find it amoung the mass amount of archives, what was it?
Mines was also my first thread ....
"I've been thinking and noticed Meat isn't on the radio during the holidays and wish he'd bring out a Christmas Album. He did that live show, but sound is poor and sketchy.
He'd make a sweet Santa Clause is Com'n to Town!"

Bring back some sweet memories of your first encounters with me?
Oh...oh god..... O_O
My first post wasn't all that long ago, so it wasn't too hard to find. It was in the introductions thread and this is what I said:
'I've recentely joined this forum so I thought I'd say hi.
I'm 23 and I've grown up listening to Meat Loaf's music all my life but I didn't really get an opinion on it either way until I was about 13/14. I remember listening to Bat Out Of Hell on a personal casette player once and my schoolfriends finding it funny but then again the artists they liked at the time are unheard of now.
Although I've enjoyed listening to Meat Loaf's music for years, it has only recentely become a major music interest so I'm looking forward to learning more.
Anyway, Hi everyone.'
I always find those introduction posts really hard to write and I remember being a little bit nervous (I always am when I join new sites) but I got a lovely welcome from some of the people here so it made things a lot easier.

That my friend was some time ago.
It was on older version of the site when Anne Filmer was the bod to contact with any problems. It was a post to thank her for taking time out to meet me with a copy of LOTW
I used the name Wolfy back then but lost my PW when I switched ISP and could not retrieve it because it was sent to mail addy I didnt have access to anymore. I noticed when I re registered on the new style page that someone else had the name so used the name I use as a mod on chat sites.

I've no idea what my first ever post was ... the "Find more posts by ..." option only shows my most recent 500 posts ... well 500 posts ago I was waffling on about time travel in a thread called Things to think about #1: Time Travel (http://www.mlukfc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6708) .

Wow, thanks RJ (it did work, for me, I think) ...
Ok ... my first ever post was on this thread (http://www.mlukfc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10991) - Postponed gigs, in relation to the group pic at Birmingham ...
Thanks for posting the pics - enjoyed looking at them and even chuckled a little to myself! In the group pic, why is everyone else sitting normally and I look either like Alex is trying to push me over or holding me up?? (...must be falling over - the shock of paying nearly £17 for two drinks...clearly we have expensive taste )
I think this is my :!:FIRST EVER:!: post on here, so congrats to me! And Hi! Good to see you in Birmingham, just sorry about the circumstances. But, hanging onto the BBC's quote that he'll "be back", hopefully see you in 2008.
...Helen
Brought back some interesting memories ... Michael's arm - I'd almost forgotten!
And I realised the question also asked WHY we joined ... well Meat Loaf ... obviously ... but I think the main reason I joined at that particular time was to keep a closer eye on cancelled / postponed shows, and I guess to see what was going on in the forum community - had already met some of you by the point I joined too.
