Meat did a show in March of 1978, at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia
and it was live on the air over the radio. That was the night the Meat Loaf
got really drunk and was throwing mic stands into the audience. So does anyone know if there was ever an unofficial recording of it?

Did Meat get drunk? On stage? man, that's totally new for me. I can imagane how that will sound.

I thought that he didn't drink and didn't smoke. But also, in the movie Black Dog, meat is smoking, and he has asma. Little bit strange it think.

 Me and the Mrs do Karaoke for a living, and part of it is doing a Meat Loaf tribute(with the long hair and red hankie etc-we get some funny looks 8O when people see us for the first time). As a person who is used to drinking too much and screaming Meat Loaf lyrics down a mic,I think he must have had a lot of fun that night.I would love to hear a recording.
If I remember rightly Meat Loaf hates cigarette smoke, but does like a good cigar now and then.Is that what he smokes in Black Dog?I haven't seen it yet.

Meat and his band called that concert the Battle Of Philadelphia! in a Tom Snyder interview from 1979, he said he was breaking guitars and throwing broken instruments into the band and audience. I have seen Meat
several times smoking a cigar in films, but it is only when he plays a bigshot like Red in Black Dog and Fred in Focus.

I saw this topic on the Philly show on the VH1 Behind The Music Meat episode. It also talked about his 3 day dissappearance.

(I didn't find topic about it in this site.)

Oh sorry!

I have seen the biopic, it is O.K, but not very truthful and the acting isn't great.

Yeah Meat smokes- there's a pic of him at Night of the Proms with a fat cigar in his mouth and also drinks, in his book he mentions he was a heavy driner and drug user. There's also a funny story of when he was a teenager and he filled his car up with kegs of beer but ended up crashing and turned upside down by the side of the road, he said all he could hear was the hissing sound of the beer filling up his car as it leaked from the kegs.
