Mine has to be Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes by edison lighthouse. The first two verses are me all over

She aint got no money
her clothes are kinda funny
and her hair is kinda wild and free
But love grows where my rosemary goes
and nobody knows like me

She talks kinda lazy
and people say she's crazy
And her lifes a mystery
But love grows where my rosemary goes
and nobody knows like me

The Smiths - Still Ill

I decree today that life
Is simply taking and not giving
England is mine - it owes me a living
But ask me why, and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why, and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams

Does the body rule the mind
Or does the mind rule the body ?
I dunno...

Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill ?
Oh ...
Am I still ill ?
Oh ...

Does the body rule the mind
Or does the mind rule the body ?
I dunno...

Ask me why, and I'll die
Oh, ask me why, and I'll die
And if you must, go to work - tomorrow
Well, if I were you I really wouldn't bother
For there are brighter sides to life
And I should know, because I've seen them
But not very often ...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill ?
Oh ...
Oh, am I still ill ?
Oh ...

Just had to let you know that Edison Lighthouse appeared at our club in Hammersmith a couple of weeks ago, they played a lot of 60's music plus you never guess 'Love grows where my Rosemary goes' trouble is I remember them first time round

Spoilsport ;):p

ok I will post one that is me right now, mine changes all the time.

And I never really sleep anymore, and I always get those dangerous dreams
And I never get a minute of peace, and I gotta wonder what it means
And I gotta wonder what it means

Maybe it's nothing and I'm under the weather
Maybe it's just one of those bugs going round
Maybe I'm under a spell and it's magic
Maybe there's a witch doctor with an office in town

Oh is this a blessing or is it a curse?
Does it get any better? Can it get any worse?
Will it go on forever or is it over tonight?
Does it come with the darkness? Does it bring out the light?
Is it richer than diamonds or just a little cheaper than spit?
(I don't know what it is)
I don't know what it is but it just won't quit

And there used to be such an easy way of living
And there used to be every hope in the world
And I used to get everything that I went after
But there never used to be this girl, but there never used to be this girl

Maybe I'm crazy and I'm losing my senses
Maybe I'm possessed by a spirit or such
Maybe I'm desperate and I've got no defenses
Can you get me a prescription for that one perfect touch?

It's a stairway to heaven or a subway going down to the pits
(Is it some kind of love?)
I don't know what it is but it just won't quit

There was a time when nothing ever really mattered
There was a time when there was nothing I didn't know
There was a time when I knew just what I was living for
There was a time and the time was so long ago
There was a time and the time was so long ago
And I never really sleep anymore

But I still say its one of my songs!

edit: sorry, I put the wrong song on, it has to be 'It Just Won't Quit'

This girl is a woman now - Gary Puckett and The Union Gap

This girl walked in dreams
Playing in a world of her own
This girl was a child
Existing in a playground of stone
Then one night her world was changed
Her life and dreams were re-arranged
And she would never be the same again

This girl is a woman now
She's learned how to give
This girl is a woman now
She's found out what it's's all about
And she's learning how to live

This girl tasted love
As tender as the gentle dawn
She cried a single tear
A teardrop that was sweet and warm
Our hearts told us we were right
And on that sweet and velvet night
A child had died
A woman had been born

Young Girl - Gary Puckett and the Union Gap

Young girl, get out of my mind,
My love for you, is way out of line,
Better run, girl,
Your're much to young girl,
With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth,
You led me to believe
Your're old enough
to give me love
And now it hurts to know the truth,
Beneath your lipstick and make up,
Your just a baby in disguise,
And though you know that it's wrong to be
alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes,
So hurry home to your mama
I'm sure she wonders where you are,
Get out of here
before I have the time
To change my mind
Cous I'm afraid were go to far.

These just about sum me up 36 years ago, but if I had my time again they would still be me

Reamonn - Supergirl

You can tell by the way
She walks that she's my girl
You can tell by the way she talks she rules the world
You can see in her eyes that no one is her Chi
She's my girl my Supergirl

And then she'd say it's OK I got lost on the way
But I'm a Supergirl and Supergirls don't cry
And she'd say it's allright I got home late last night
But I'm a Supergirl and Supergirls just fly
And then she'd say that nothing can go wrong
When you're in love what can go wrong

And then she'd laugh the night time into the day
Pushing her fears further along
And then she'd say it's OK I got lost on the way
But I'm a Supergirl and Supergirls don't cry
And she'd say it's allright I got home late last night
But I'm a Supergirl and Supergirls just fly
Then she'd shout down the line tell me she's got no more time
Cause she's a Supergirl and Supergirls don't cry

Then she'd scream in my face tell me to leave leave this place
Cause she's a Supergirl and Supergirls just fly
She's a Supergirl a Supergirl

She's sewing seeds she's burning tree
She's sewing seeds she's burning tree
She's a Supergirl a Supergirl
A Supergirl my Supergirl

I liked that song from the first time I heard it in the radio. I think it quite suits me.
It also became "our" song some time later.

This has always been my own little 'theme song':

You show us everything you've got
You keep on dancin' and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You say you wanna go for a spin
The party's just begun, we'll let you in
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day

You keep on saying you'll be mine for a while
You're lookin' fancy and I like your style
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You show us everything you've got
Baby, baby that's quite a lot
And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin'

I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day....

Ooooh, crikey! Thought these would be just one line song title answers - not the whole song!

ie, today it would have to be 'Wild Thing' ....... but it will probably be something different tomorrow!

Mental note: Think of whole song that represents me

What song? This:

The Silent Man

The Earth is going and the twigs are being swayed
Buildings are crumbling and after every pained
The Silent Man lies in a pool of blood
You think you've been abandoned by God

And wasted years occur to me
Aware of shade of death revive memory
When I handed my friend over to the land
Because he belonged to another band
I owed him a debt of gratitude
But this was the slogan: “You win if you’ve aptitude”
And I was crying, I was shedding a tear
Something was breaking and I was seized by fear

I dropped next to his unspoiled body
And I absorbed in the sea of shame
Never, my soul never will be out of money
I gaoled a youth and I spoiled his game
I was running and running to the world
I hoped to could hide from my conscience
But I never feel to free myself like a bird
My lament heart will be reduced to exigence

The Earth is going and the twigs are being swayed
Buildings are crumbling and after every pained
The Silent Man lies in a pool of blood
You think you've been abandoned by God

Then I’ve remained silent and no said nevermore
I sank into myself and I’ve started the tor
It was his dream that he climbs the mountain
Pounce on all rocks and touch every quoin
Once I stood above his tomb and was praying
At the time the flowers dried and the fog was falling
There was something in the icy wind
I knew that no pardon and I was just diving

As far as I thought that I was damned
I spoke the act for nobody
But I’ve never thrown in my hand
Now and then inside here the other-world’s melody
sounds and torments me
My cry drifts away like an elegy
The fact hangs me in effigy
The time’s my mortal enemy

The leafs were falling off and the hope was frozen
But the sky’s kept silent and God’s not sent any omen
The Silent Man sat in rocker at the death’s door
His life passed by like current next to the shore

Have you ever seen the light?
Have you never been in night?
I’m short of breath without a break
I wish I’d live at the bottom of a lake
I would be the mud and the God would be the whirlpool
Then I ain’t wear a hood like one of the old school
And I ain’t wait the Lord comes on the scene
I ain’t want to be a silver-mounted epitaph as sin

Oh Silent Man! Oh Silent Man!
I ain’t like to die alone
I had got an elfin dream
I’m living in the middle of everything forever
Between sky and land I was the seam

Oh Silent Man! Oh Silent Man!
I will scoff at the wasted past
I will draw up the shaded blind
And ask to stars some questions
Why has changed my state of mind?
Why does it down late at night?
Why do I feel so that I mustn’t pay the tithe?

The gate of heaven’s opening and ground is drowning apart
And destructive firestorm is breaking somebody’s heart
The Silent Man stagger to his feet but
You still think you've been abandoned by God

His glaring glory’s hypnotizing me
I am hearing my destiny

God:
I ain’t detain you
You derive from calm
This world is your again on his way home

Silent Man:
You strike me with terror
I feel me in a hole

God:
Will you are a just person!
No roam more knight errant!
I liberate you out of fetters – my servant

Silent Man:
I think I’m dreaming now
I don’t follow why and how

God:
Explode the cosmos there inside!
Knock against your soul with the space
But I want to hear some prayer in any case

Silent Man:
I promise for you
I give it your due

God:
No make a reply to the evil
And the Earth will be burst into flame by candle
You suddenly saw a light at the end of the tunnel

Silent Man:
Give me just another world
I know you’re as good as your word

The earthquake was at an end
But the peaceful town is rent
The ice reckon with the fire
Devise reckon with desire
Everywhere blood and everywhere pain
In the dying eyes – there is stinging disdain
Damn it! Hey God! Go to Hell!
In the blazing wind – here is Lucifer

Lucifer:
Give me your irretrievable soul
I ain’t flutter the dovecotes
I announce the peace of holiness
The white color changes the black cause

Silent Man:
I don’t believe in you
You’re spark out of the blue

Lucifer:
Nobody like you in the ghost city
Your life’s been a blot on your copybook
You’ll drown into the shame
I could give you a peaceful nook

Silent Man:
I don’t believe in you
You’re spark out of the blue

Lucifer:
I’m not a devil
He’s living at the top
I’m just a diamond in a jeweler’s
But you are a schlemiel on the dock

Silent Man:
I don’t believe in you
You’re blur out of the blue

Lucifer:
What would you go against
with the stream?
It isn’t your most ardent wish
Come to your sense! It ain’t your dream

Silent Man:
It maybe true
Oh no, you’re blur out of the blue

The waves dash over my head
I ain’t sure of myself
I consider it new
Like an early dew
I feel the recoil of my own folly
My skull will be hurt by holly
No matter how heaven or hell
I’ll be content everywhere and it’s novel

Darkness past and darkness future
The darkness present read me a lecture
The Silent Man step over a threshold of death
And under the ruin he goes through his final breath…

Very tough choice as it tends to change daily depending on my mood.

When I am happy it would be something like "The Street Where you live" from the musical "My Fair Lady"

When I am sad/down it would probably be "The Dance" by Garth Brooks.

Overall, I tend to be the sort of person who is forever questioning what they do, I am not very spontaneous so I really like ValJean's Song from les Miserables where he questions who he is:

If I speak, I am condemned.
If I stay silent, I am damned!

Who am I?
Can I condemn this man to slavery
Pretend I do not feel his agony
This innocent who bears my face
Who goes to judgement in my place
Who am I?
Can I conceal myself for evermore?
Pretend I'm not the man I was before?
And must my name until I die
Be no more than an alibi?
Must I lie?
How can I ever face my fellow men?
How can I ever face myself again?
My soul belongs to God, I know
I made that bargain long ago
He gave me hope when hope was gone
He gave me strength to journey on

The other song that also sums me up is Garth brooks The Dance

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance
