I would rather watch paint drying than football, 22 over grown kids and a bag of wind and a field and 2 sticks of wood and a bit of net, yawn or what?
if you combine the wages of these pillocks, how many hospitals could we build? How many doctors could we fund?

My husband is representing this country at the Olympics and he gets no funding at all, to buy 2 new archery bows its costing us 3 grand! Now tell me thats fair, cos it aint.

The Olympics is different, but apart from that the rest is true. they should never be payed so much. Did you know there was one pro womens team and they were payed £400 a week. The difference is immense and if you watch the woman play, they get stuck in and play til thye have nothing left to give, and you never hear about these players who carry on playing regardless if they have a twisted ankle or not.

How many hospitals and doctors??

Well none actually as it isn't public funds. They are private businesses who make their money through advertising and merchandising so none of it would fund public services.

Talk about the ref being biased

Rob The Badger
25 Jun 2004, 17:35
Eugh. . .the ref wasn't biased, stop making excuses! England lost because they played 80 minutes worth of awful football.

Look at Terry's left arm people. . .

KebLou
25 Jun 2004, 18:15
I'm looking but not seeing, what I see is it being twisted and he's not pushing down on the goalkeeper. There have been loads of disscusions like 'How could the ref see it from where he was? When the linesman gave it but not him, and he was outside the box'

Rob The Badger

Also, Campell is using Terry as a boost. . .I can see why the foul was called.

Theres nothing in the rules about that, and also if you look hes not quite.

Chris

It was technically a foul for touching the goalie but I do not believe the ref could see it from where he was. i think it called it foul and it was merely pure fluke that it happened to be a foul after he had called it.

Also, I agree with the chappie off Talk radio, how can the ref be unbiased when we are the team who knocked his country (switzerland) out. Surely it would be better to use a ref from a country we had not played.

Next, i fail to see how it is right that an international match is decided on penalties. They should bring back the golden goal and play to the death.

Also, i must agree a little with rob, we did not play a brilliant game of football.

But still, we was robbed!!!

Are they talking about changing that rule, because they think its unfair...

As an England fan I've had nothing but a numb feeling since we were beaten on penalties last night, The players gave absolutly everything (although a bit more from Mr Beckham would've been nice). As for the 'goal' I was jumping up and down with joy and then seething in frustration but I think had the boot been on the other foot we'd be screaming for a foul!!.
Personally I don't think it was a foul as the portugal goalkeeper didn't even jump and then went down as if he'd been shot from the stands!!
Well done England, maybe we'll have our slice of luck in the world cup.
