Where's the unlikliest holiday destination you've been to?

Hypnobabe
29 Nov 2006, 12:39
Haven't really been anywhere unusual, unless you count Estonia (it's off the beaten track as far as holiday destinations go) but that wasn't really a holiday... Or I've been to Hong Kong, which was fabulous, as I went before they built the new airport so I did the 'spot-the-checkerboard-on-the-side-of-the-mountain-and-turn-hard-right' thing.... breathtaking, and made you feel like you could touch the buildings on the way past...

Do you believe in re-incarnation?

One very hot summer, I went in wearing a strappy vest top, slip and the uniform, with no actual clothes underneath. The embarassing part? Coming out of work at 5 pm and taking off the uniform as I usually did, then realising I was standing in the middle of the high street in my underwear

What's the piece of learning you most remember from school?

What's your favourite famous quotation?

Betty
17 Mar 2007, 17:17
Actually there are a few quotations I like...
Dunno if they are famous itself, but theyīre said by famous persons ;)
Ellen Degeneres:
"I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her."
Always makes me laugh!!
Another one of Ellen:
"Sometimes the greatest things are the most embarrassing."
True, eh?

Alan Rickman:
"I do take my work seriously and the way to do that is not to take yourself too seriously."
YEP!!
Second one:
"I love America because whenever I go home -- there's something about England and coming from England-- but as soon as you walk down the steps of the plane you shrink. And you have to start saying "sorry" and being polite and curtsying and things like that... America just lets me be the klutz I really am."

Awwww c'mon........tell!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you should ask - it involved a cat - two cats actually. :-) One tom cat was hassling our neutered female feline, so I decided to keep a loaded water pistol by the front door each night.

Tom came acallin', I dash out of bed, grab pistol, and out onto the front pavement squirting said tom. It was then that I realised how I was unattired.

Made a speedy retreat, to find hubby in hysterics, wondering how long it was going to take before I realised what I was doing. Or rather, HOW I was doing it.

 SO! Now for your worst bathroom moment?

Hypnobabe
23 Mar 2007, 23:03
Nothing terribly embarrasing, actually, just things like having a glass of wine in the bath and slipping when I tried to get out, or being the size of a beached whale while pregnant and having to be hoisted out of the bath by my husband...

How much does it take to get you drunk?

Monstro

Paradise ... because I've heard it too many times.

Which three songs should he add in it's place?

Paradise has run it's course and just doesn't "look" right anymore with Aspin

Would love a couple of the older rarely heard ones, More Than You Deserve would have the same impact as Objects for instance. Would give my right arm to hear "Surf's Up" and then again he could just give the band a rest and sing "For Crying Out Loud"

None...had only one and got all hysterical and had to call somebody else to call auto club for me...couldn't even do THAT myself...

How good are you in general with fixing the cars

:lmao: Not Zena getting hysterical!!!! :lmao: Can't imagine that. :lmao:

Actually, I was lucky that my first husband (in one of his many lives) was a motor mechanic, he taught me lots of little things to keep me on the road without having to call him or the auto club. Don't know how good I'd be these days though with so much gadgetry on cars. Maybe I'd just get hysterical and kick a tyre or two. :D

Can you use all the features on your cell phone?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 01:53
Name is Zina

Despite being loud I am a very girlie girl...if girl is the right terminology here...

NO..I just got a new phone and don't know 1/2 of what is going on with it...but hey...it's a phone...I can still dial a number and make a phone call...

What is the feature of your cell phone that you hate the most and why

Rockette
26 Mar 2007, 02:06
 Extremely humble apologies, Zina. I actually sat here trying to remember if it was an "e" or "i" and grabbed the wrong one obviously.

The feature I like least on my cell phone may not necessarily be a feature, but a sign of its senility! It resets itself to unwanted settings with monotonous regularity. I can't hear the soft ring tone it goes back to - missed calls all over the place. I should fix it with a hammer!

When was the most inopportune time your phone has rung?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 02:11
Nah, no apologies necessary...like Pud said...so...you're ACTUALLY Russian? And I just thought you had a weird name...:lmao:

Probably at 2 am when I finally fell asleep...

Do you wish cell phones these days were made bigger or smaller?

Rockette
26 Mar 2007, 02:17
The smaller, the better! My purse is soooooo full already of "stuff" I can't leave out of it, I walk lopsided!

Carry a large or small purse?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 02:19
Always large...carry over from my working in the city days...can't run home if you forgot something...so have to carry your entire life in your purse...

Evening purse:

Plain satin or beaded

Rockette
26 Mar 2007, 05:05
hmmm. methinks it's more like a microfibre fabric, with no decoration at all. I know it's damn little though. only can fit in driver's licence, pocket diary, pen, phone, glasses, and hankie - nearly travelling naked when I use that one. :D

what was the motivation behind your parents giving you the name they chose?

Hypnobabe
26 Mar 2007, 11:38
My name is Claire - I was born in 1974, a yer after the song I was named after. My sister Melanie was named after a little girl in a Lucozade advert, so I think I got the best deal there!

If you could guarantee it would look good on you, what colour would you dye your hair?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 14:01
Probably blonde...never tried that one although know it won't suit me 100%

Plain color or with highlights?

Hypnobabe
26 Mar 2007, 14:05
Currently?

I'm a natural brunette, sort of mousy brown, but I've had it coloured chocolate brown block colour underneath with sort of honey blonde highlights, so I've got both!

What's your favourite way to spend a Sunday?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 14:07
Doing absolutely NOTHING at all...playing with computer, reading, just chilling...

Do you like shopping?

Rockette
26 Mar 2007, 15:06
Grocery shopping is the absolute pits, but most other shopping is great therapy for whatever ails you. More especially so if I see my favourite four letter word - SALE. So that's a "yes."

Do you ever pay full retail when shopping, or do you wait eons for items to come on sale?

mszee
26 Mar 2007, 17:35
If I really want something I do pay full retail...no patience here whatsoever...

Rockette
