At the Much Music Video Awards (MMVA) a program for many canadian artists and international artists of a few, accept certain awards for their music videos. It was really fun to watch, I so wish I was there! But if you don't mind I'd like to comment on the entrance of my second favourite band. Well a lot of artists, were down there that night all dressed up to please the crowd and they were making it so obvious they want the camera on their them! Possibly to sell more records.... as well as showing up right at the carpet in their really fancy limosuines. (sp.)
This personally annoyed me... that is until one of "the best bands  " in the world showed up at the carpet, in a real ugly car type of van thing which looks like it hadn't had a paint job ever! Rusted rims and everything, it was priceless. I had no idea who was going to step out of that object. Out came Sam Roberts Band. As this "vehicle" started crawling out of the cameras sites, you could see the band walk out with not a huge applause, but a big one. Cameraman and the annoying reporter was trying to speak to Sam, who was clearly drunk or something, or possibly very tired! Because he was stumbling but yet stable, mumbling but still audible, but he was smiling and enjoying his new life as a Rock Star! He answered a few questions, signed one person's paper, it looked like he was finishing the autograph in the air!
He received three video awards that night, and gave them both to the two young men who designed the video and said something like, "we don't deserve these awards we just made the songs, I think....(un audible) .... give these guys a BIG round of applause, and thank you!
It was an entrance, like no other that night! Really lit up my night. His hair was long and messy and in his eyes, had his flannel shirt it, looked like he hadn't changed for a week, but it didn't matter to him, he received the awards, and clearly had a good night! And like Meat Loaf my first favourite performer, had a big smile on his face, and that's always great!
That was my review of a good night. And here's a brief question 2 question with Sam Roberts Band and a reporter.
(if you got through this all, all i say is thanks for reading! i just had to share a very happy moment with you all. in all honesty, i'm never too happy much anymore. but this clearly was a great night for me, even if I was home watching this. being sixteen hours away from this live TV special.)
