 Looks interesting.
I have all these tracks already though :(
At the moment, there are three Meat Loaf CDG's (CD Graphic - the words come up on the telly) available.
They are......
The Sunfly one.
A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste.
Bat Out Of Hell.
Dead Ringer For Love.
I'd Do Anything For Love.
I'd Lie For You.
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us.
Midnight At The Lost & Found.
Objects In THe Rear View Mirror.
Paradise By THe Dashboard Light.
Rock & Roll Dreams Come THrough.
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad.
You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth.
Sunfly are one of the main karaoke supliers in the UK.The disc is generally good quality.
Sunfly do have a habit of getting the lyrics wrong on certain songs, in this case, on A Kiss, instead of "You gotta pay for it later" the on screen lyrics encourage you to sing "You get the paper in later" 8O .
My main gripe, is that Objects is the single version, therefore misses the middle verse :? .There's also one or two lines missing from the girls part on Anything For Love but nothing major.
The Zoom one.
Modern Girl.
Dead Ringer.
Not A Dry Eye In THe House.
A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste.
Paradise.
I'd Lie For You.
Took The Words.
Midnight At Lost & Found.
Two Out Of Three.
Couldn't Have Said It Better.
No Matter What.
Bat Out Of Hell.
FAN - FREAKIN - TASTIC.
This disc is just plain awesome 8) .It is JUST like they have taken the main vocal off the album and added the on screen lyrics.THe quality of the music has got to be heard to be believed.
Apart from having the standards (Bat, Paradise etc) this disc also has the ONLY karaoke versions of Modern Girl, Not A Dry Eye, and Couldn't Have Said It Better. These songs are not available on any other CDG, VCV or DVD.
Although I use the Sunfly versions for certain songs (because they are up to standard and i'm used to them) I certainly prefare some of the Zoom tracks. With "A Kiss" Zoom's version blows Sunflys out of the water without even trying.
In my opinion, the best
I'm also trying to get Joe who runs the company to produce another one
I believe Mr Driskell has this one and was bowled over by the quality.
The Sound Choice One.
I'd Do Anything For Love.
I'd Lie For You.
Hot Patootie.
For Crying Out Loud.
Two Out Of Three.
All Reavved Up.
Rock & Roll Dreams.
Sound Choice Is one of the main American karaoke companies.
I bought this disc just for Hot Patootie, For Crying Out Loud and All Reavved Up.On all three counts, I think the backing tracks are very good quality 8) .
As for the other tracks, I don't think there is anything special about them.Nothing that made me want to change from the versions I already use. That said, i'm happy with the versions I use, so it would have to be something pretty terific to make me change  .
One addition to this disc, is that the tracks are repeated again with vocal demonstration tracks.i.e Track 7 - Rock & Roll Dreams.Track 8 Anything For Love with vocals. The guy just doesn't sound right on the vocal dem though.Kinda funny
Tracks and notes.
Paradise By The Dashboard Light.
It is very hard to find a version of Paradise that includes the baseball play by play. They tend to jump from "Tonight's the night" to "Stop Right There". :? There was a company called DKG which actually made a version with the play by play included, but these discs are sadly out of print :( .I've been told that Sound Choice do a version with the play by play, but you have to say it yourself 8O .I'm a little busy elswhere during the play by play myself
Heaven Can Wait.
I have two versions (there are three, but two out of three ain't bad :lmao: )
Believe it or not, I find the Zoom version a bit too fast 8O .Compaired to their Meat disc, it isn't up to scratch.Saying that, it is on one of their earlier discs, so I dare say they've learned their lessons well.I use the Music Maestro version.Very nice 8) .The disc the Music Maestro version is on also includes Two Out Of Three and Took The Words.
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us, Read Em And Weep.
Sunfly are the only company who makes versions of these songs.Sadly, not on the same disc :? .
So there you go  .
If you a regular visitor to karaokes, I would recomend you get your own disc, as many karaokes won't have you want :? .With your own disc, you can go to any karaoke, hand your disc in, and start singing.
All these companies export to other countries, so there should be a dealer not too far away who will stock them.
If there's anything else you want to know about Meat Loaf on karaoke (price info, dealerships in your area) just give me a shout and i'll see what I can do
The Sound Choice version of Paradise ... DOES include a recorded play-by-play. It is a very good version.
I agree with you 100% about the Zoom disc. I'd Lie For You ... should be minus female lead vocal though. A Kiss ... blew me away. And yes, a volume two is necessary.
I personally dislike Sunfly recordings. I can forgive getting the words on screen wrong, but when the backing singers sing the wrong words too ...
You failed to mention -
Runnin' For The Red Light (Sunfly)
Everything Louder ... (Bright Spark)
No Matter What (Bright Spark)
BTW, Sound Choice are about to release a version of Couldn't Have Said It Better.
Barmad
I HAVE to get myself some of these backing tracks!! Lol!

The Sound Choice version of Paradise ... DOES include a recorded play-by-play. It is a very good version.
 Really? 8O I was told that on one of the karaoke forums that you had to do the play by play yourself. Thanks for the tip off

Awesome isn't it 8) .
On I'd Lie For You I tend to use the Sunfly version. The quality is good enough, and if i'm happy with the sound I usually stick to the version I know.Call it superstition, but even if I have the same version on two discs, I still go for the one I did first. For instance, I sing Two Out Of Three off Sunfly 19.Not off the Meat disc.Weird huh?

I can't remember any time this has been a problem to be honest.
I find Sunfly can be very inconsistent in the quality of the actual backing track (but what company is  ).Some of their stuff is awesome, but some of it isn't so good.
You failed to mention -
Runnin' For The Red Light (Sunfly)
Everything Louder ... (Bright Spark)
No Matter What (Bright Spark)
I knew i'd forgotten something  .Must buy that new brain off ebay I keep promising myself  .
Problem with Sunfly 49 (RFTRL) is that most of the other songs on it are crap  .
Everything Louder (the only version) and No Matter What are in DVD format on Vol 1.THe disc also features Hot Patootie 8) .I've ordered that disc and can't wait to give Everything Louder a bash  .
BTW, Sound Choice are about to release a version of Couldn't Have Said It Better.
Cool 8) .No offence to the song, but with it's lack of success, I thought it had sunk never to reapear :( .Even Sunfly (who are usually pretty fair with it's shares of Meat Loaf) didn't put it out :( .Revival time 8) .
They'll have a real hard job coming up to Zoom's version though  .
Are you a KJ Barmad, or an enthusiastic karaoke follower?
Either way, check out http://karaokeinfo.co.uk

 Some DVD's will play certain CDG's.
My DVD player plays most CDG's, but does not play the Zoom one as there it is specially incryped to prevent illegal copying.
CDG players are coming more widely available to the public market.Goodmans, who's home market entertainment product was the "Boogie Box" (a very low quality cassette tape player, that had the means for a mic, and adding echo to the mic) now sell products aimed at home entertainment that include CDG playing capacity.
I think there is also a branded "Pop Idol" one available, but I dare say your paying more for the name.
Proffesional standard players are available from DJ shops.
The one I (and most other KJ's I know) use is the JVC model. This can be plugged into your TV.
Additional features of the JVC are echo.Mic capasity, and key changer.
CDG's can also be used as normal CD's.As long as you know the words

 BTW Christa, if the disc you refare too is the one in Heli's first post on this thread, it isn't a CDG (the words won't come on the telly). With these CD's you usually get a lyric book.
But as i've already said, CDG players are becoming more and more available in the home entertainment market.
For details on the three Meat CDG discs currently available, see the info above
