there is currently a scam doing the rounds whereby somebody in your addres book sends an email inviting you to join SMS.ac

DO NOT SIGN UP

The invite is sent without the other persons knowledge. Hidden in the small print is a note to say that although messages you send are free it can cost up to 55p per message to recieve them.

The company is based in Australia where they are trying to ban them from doing this!

I picked it up through the Smart Car network - been found in France, Germany, Greece, Hollland, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Italy and Luxembourg.
