Here's my question...
Can parking wardens ("Civil Enforcement Officers" as they now appear to be called) issue 2 separate PCNs for same offence in same location 10 mins apart - when vehicle has not moved in between - then only inform you of 1 of them?

I.e. issue first at 10:13 & issue no physical notice. Then issue second at 10:23 and place physical notice onto vehicle. Therefore you pay the second one (issued 10:23), because you are aware of it, and believing this to be end of the issue - yet a month later receive a "Notice to Owner" demanding even higher payment (due to failure to pay within 14 days) in reference to the first one (of which you have not been informed).

To avoid completely taking over the screen with waffle, I have posted info on the circumstances around this in my mlukfc blog for anyone who cares enough to read it ;-)

Ok ... so my thoughts...

I'm very tired, and have millions of things to do.

I'm awake for a few reasons - but on here because I was hungry (due to being up so late AND tired, no doubt) and therefore decided to have cereal. But then realised I can't do the things I'm supposed to be doing whilst eating cereal. So I'm here whilst I eat the cereal.

VERY excited as about an hour ago had a text from my friend's boyfriend to say that their daughter had been born - along with a photo of the gorgeous little girl. Thirteen minutes past midnight which I believe means she misses out on £200 of Child Trust Fund by 13 minutes ... typical!

One of our friends had the smart idea of putting together a compilation of soothing songs (known as "Soothing Songs for Slumber") and I don't know how but I found myself with the task of designing and producing the cover/artwork for it. Managed to get a few covers printed earlier today with a variety of dates on them (to allow for several possibilities) and have now cut down to size the correct dates and put on the cd. Then it's into the basket with the cd and the whole lot to be wrapped up in cellophane and a lovely big pink bow on top! Off to do that as soon as I've finished here so it'll all be ready for tomorrow when we're hoping to go visiting. :-)

Then early start tomorrow so I can fit everything that's essential into the day!

She was taken into the hospital last Monday and they kept her in.
There seemed to be a problem with her liver, gall stones showed up on the scan, but they wanted to do more tests to make sure there was nothing else wrong.
Was in hospital all week but they never got round to giving her the other tests, so they finally let her home today and said they will make an appointment for her to go back for them.

She's much better now though thanks.

"irony"? ... i woke to news that a church i pass daily on my newspaper route is coming under attack by License & Inspection because it's been being used as a men's shelter ... and it's licensed to be a church only ... about 15 men sleep there on a daily basis... i watched these men take months to turn a piece of sh*t building into something decent to the eye ... these are men trying to sort their lives out ... i've seen them work together... they've never been anything but polite and kindly to me (i took a trip up the street from the church last year and they all came running to make sure i was okay ) ... their time to stay there is up Aug 10 according to the news...

when i was a child i always thought of a church building as God's house... and a place you could run to when in harm's way ... find comfort and sanctuary in ... shame on L&I... i say ... sort it... and let the men be ... i have a feeling though, neighbors may have reported them ...

... i stopped to chat to a couple of the men living at the church/ outreach center ... the thought seems to be it's the neighbors who reported on them ... that was my thought as well ... but as the man said... and i was so in accord with him ... the men at the church keep the area clean (there's a playground across the street and up until a few months ago it was in ratty condition but the men at the church went over and pulled all the weeds from the cracks in sidewalks... swept the whole property up and it's a huge piece of CITY OWNED property... and stay on top of it keeping it clean) ... i told him i'll toss up good thoughts to the powers... and for him and the men to hang in there fighting the good fight ...
