We're not in Dubai lol
Last night was a joke! Went to bed, turned off the light, and got a serious fit of the pre-tour giggles!! I couldn't settle down! The only thing I can compare it to is that feeling as a child going to bed on Christmas Eve, which would be fine if tour started tomorrow, I can't be doing this for a week!
About to start sewing, may need some serious quality control checking on my bags this week!

I'm hearing of a security alert at Heathrow.
A passenger has been held on suspicion of being the head of an international ticket touting operation.
A young Australian female is believed to be in possession of countless concert tickets which the authorities believe will be sold on the black market for illegal profit.
The tickets were cleverly concealed inside a box of new cricket balls.

Concert tickets for major artists are too pricey these days... They are going beyond West End show levels where you are guaranteed better views and more comfort.
Think I will focus on less popular artists from this year onwards, go to the local theatre more and catch the odd West End show.

The racecourse shows put a different perspective on the tour I think. I wonder if these outdoor shows would really be the end or even further arena shows for late 2013 are planned/in people's minds. I can't imagine saying goodbye to the UK at some racecourses. I would have thought dedicated arenas where more well travelled fans would flock to would be better rather than a mixed crowd consisting of people who simply want to witness a day at the races as well. Maybe I'm over thinking this...
In which case, I'm over thinking it too!

Hope the bed is at least comfy! :-)
Next time in London you could maybe try booking via Lastminute.com. Sometimes you can get good deals on "top secret hotels". Fair enough it might not be as close by (usually you can figure out which hotel it is anyway) but you can often get a four or five star hotel at a good price. I stayed in the "Grange St. Paul's Hotel" a few years ago for about 100 quid per night which is good for London prices. Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Very luxurious.
Last time we stayed at the Waldonia hotel. Cheap and clean. But too far from the 02. We chose for the Ibis because of the location.
Spent the day sightseeing.... more to come tomorrow!

Did I miss the RIP Maggie on this site?!
 :nope:
If her death proves one thing, she was certainly a polorising figure :lawl:
A lot of people think she was the best thing that happened to this country, while the fact that Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead is flying up the charts shows that a lot of people feel very differently.
Each is entitled to their own point of view.
The one thing I don't like, I find annoying and distasteful, is the bandwagon jumpers.
Maggie Thatcher was in power from 1979 - 1990.
I was 3 when she won the election that brought her to power, and I was 14 when she was kicked out.
For most of her time in office, the thing that concerned me most was playing with my Action Man, watching cartoons, and the odd game of offground tick.
I had no time for political goings on, new sod all about the government, and quite frankly, even John Craven bored the crap out of me.
I've done little to educate myself further in the subject of 1980's British politicts.
There are too many other good and interesting things in life.
I don't feel I am educated enough on the subject to have a strong opinion, so I don't pretend to have one.
So it annoys me somewhat to see vids of some 18 year old tossers chanting "MAGGIE MAGGIE MAGGIE, DEAD DEAD DEAD"!
They were not around when she was in power, were not even born.
Admittedly I can't say for sure, but they don't look like students of political science. :bleh:
Perhaps it's just me who's surprised by the ammount of teenage proffessors of 1980's British politics
How can you hate someone so much if you know nothing about what they stood for?
From what I understand (which again, isn't a great deal) she screwed a lot of people over.
Those people have every right not to like her, and even to celebrate her death.
For instance, I have a friend who survived Hilsborough, and I know it's something that has changed who he is. He quite rightly feels bitter about the police cover up. MT was in office at the time, and many people believe that she was directly involved in that cover up.
He has good reason to dislike her so I don't blame him for feeling the way he does over her death.
She was quite harsh to the north of England. People of my dad's generation will know how harsh, and base their opinions on that knowledge.
Me? I was busy watching The Real Ghostbusters.
But the banwagon jumpers are somethig else.
IMHO, getting drunk and chanting those chants purely for shits and giggles, hateing for fun rather than reason, robs something from those who have a genuine grievance against MT.
So next Wednesday, when it's her funeral, i'll be neither glued to the telly with a bunch of paper tissues or hiding in the crowd along the procession route with a concealed box of eggs, i'll be going to a Meat Loaf show.
That suite me fine

Sad to hear about Boston after the fantastic day I've had
Lucky ~~~~~~~. :-P Are you going to wear your glasses for that show? How many people does the Ijsselhallen hold. It looks pretty big. Is it seated?
Sorry. The Boston tragedy made me forget to answer this.
I believe between 5 and 7000 people can fit the Hall. It's not seated and I need my glasses or else I can't see

At about 2:50 pm Eastern time on April 15th, two explosive device went off near the finish line of THe Boston Marathon in a section of the city known as Copley Square. 3 people were killled, including an eight year old boy. At least 144 were injured. 18 of those were critical. 2 Boston Police Officer were inured but are expected to make a full recovery. There were at least 3 other explosive devices located which were successfully denoted by the bomb experts b4 they were able to do any damage. There were have been more devices that didn't go off. Cell phone service was just off in that area of the city. Most of that area of the city will be closed down for days and it is a very busy active area. Case has been handed over to the FBI and naturally a full & intensive investigation is taking place. There is a person of interest being questioned in connection with the blasts at a local Boston hospital. That is what is known and has been confirmed. There are so many other rumors & stories going around
It is such a sad tragic day here in my city of Boston. My heart aches for those affected. Prayers & positive are needed for all those injured and the families of those killed. Prayers & good thoughts also needed for the city to come together & be strong

Starting to get really cross now, when you order furniture and the delivery company send it to the wrong depot, then damage it, why does it take so long for them to decide to deliver the replacement?!! I think somebody will be getting an earful tomorrow...

Ooh tell me about it. Spent three hours (with two helping!) to build a wardrobe that they state on the 'instructions' should take two people 90 minutes, realising about half way through that two of the components were incorrectly numbered, only to find that the legs were missing. One phone call to the supplier later and they've promised the missing parts be delivered within a week. Tomorrow will be day 8 and they're not here yet...

We also ordered a new bed, which arrived on the day it was supposed to, so we dismantled the old one, put all the bits in the garage, started to build the new one only to discover they'd forgotten to include the 4 bolts to hold the foot of the bed on! We used one at each corner instead of two, contacted the company who were very good and immediately sent out 4 replacements, only to find the package came open in the post, so we received an empty Jiffy bag!!! Needless to say, we slept without moving too much until the replacement replacement bolts arrived :0/

Really sad to see people buying current tour merchandise and putting it on eBay as rare - the black and white signed pictures of Meat are £10 at shows, seen two eBay listings describing them as "rare" and "obtained in person" with Buy It Now prices of almost £60

They were selling merch in the main hall in the O2 so could even be someone who didn't even go to see the show I guess. But it's quite ridiculous lying about all that stuff.
Personally I don't buy merchandise but even then I would have thought it is worth MUCH less outside of the concert buying when you are at the show experience. Ie. it is more of a momento for your memories rather than just an expensive thing right?

It's a bit cheeky to list it that way but some people will try anything I suppose.
I was quite surprised to see someone selling their M&G laminate and souvenir ticket. You don't often see that on eBay.

The M&G stuff doesn't bother me - if they don't want it and can make a couple of quid then fair play - but the signed picture is basically a fraudulent listing saying it was rare and obtained in person. Obtained in person from a merchandise stand, yes, but not fromM Meat!
