Some interesting facts on the Apple website as they are reaching 50 billion App downloads.
Apparently counting to 50 billion would take you 1600 years to do. Anyone want to try?

Just saw the trailer for Michael J Fox's new show. The man is a true inspiration. Actually makes me pretty pissed about that horrible Dutch journalist who said it looked like Meat Loaf had Parkinsons (because of the shaky microphone thing). If people like that would to experience Michael J Fox's condition even for a few minutes I'm sure he'd soon stop writing silly references like that. Stupid assed ~~~~~~~.

Apart from the drunks kicking off in the hotel at 3am resulting in the police still being there at 10am. Belfast is one of the friendliest cities I've been too. The people are polite cheerful and generous (especially the taxi driver who didn't charge us anything because he didn't have any change!)

Still enjoying it ... Flight back delayed by an hour and a half now. At this rate we'll still be here when the Dublin show starts!
I almost fell asleep this afternoon.
I might need a coffee or something to wake me up.
I was so sleepy most of the afternoon at work... Bed time and I'm wide awake.... Go figure.... Maybe my body is already in preparation for the timezone change?

Not feeling too great today. Not sick, more emotionally. I hadn't listened to any Meat since the show but I put on It Just Won't Quit this morning and his voice just gave me shivers. I can't believe that's it for me. Never gonna see the man that got me through 19 odd years of my life again. And then that makes me think of all the crap his music got me through.. Oh, sad Thursday :(
Little rant, over and out.

Maybe look at it from a more positive perspective would cheer you up. His music was a source of positive energy for you for so long.
Indeed nothing lasts forever and everything eventually ends but perhaps it is exactly that that makes things special, unique and memorable.
Besides it looks like he isn't quite done with making music just yet.
Been a fan of Meat's music for about the same amount of time. Certainly in the nineties it helped me a lot to get inspired, build things and was just a fab source for my creativity which I don't think I would have developed as well without his music.
Sending positive vibes your way...
I'm clinging onto Andrew's post for dear life lol
It's definitely a sad time, can't even imagine how I'm going to feel when I leave the MEN arena next week knowing it's all done, but honestly, if I think like that all the time I'm going to end up in therapy!
Had to giggle, at the Belfast show I was sitting next to two women from the M&G (Liz and her sister who was lovely but I can't remember her name!)...the sister got really emotional at the beginning of Heaven Can Wait when Meat was saying his Thank You's, and Liz turned to her and said "calm down, he's not dead!" and I just had to laugh, because it's true!
I'm not going to dumb-down how big a deal the "farewell tour" is for everyone, I guess we just have to think of this as the next step...

I'm having a thought time dealing with the fact that for me, it's going to be all over this time next week and in a way it's making it difficult to look forward to the Nottingham show as I'll know in my mind that it really is the end.
It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. :'(

Ummm... 'Cos it's a long way away..? Just a thought ;0)
Lots of things to be sad about.... My last Meat Loaf show, last few days in the UK.... But I think the most important one is..... The Smiler at Alton Towers isn't open.....

There's a lot to be sad about at the moment.
I've been to what is probably my LAST EVER Meat show, my M&G photo from Nottingham is terrible and will require a bit of Photoshopping to make it fit to show anyone, I'm back at work today and next week I have both a hospital appointment and my surgery
Ugh, I'll stop there before I get too depressed.

I'm sure the photo isn't as bad as you think! I remember seeing you with your hat on up on the screen for a moment!
Hope hospital isn't too bad.
Driving and catching the train solo today, wish me luck!

Yeah that would have been me with the hat on. The main problem with the pic is the look on my face, I look a bit startled which is not what I was hoping for but the challenge of fixing the photo will do me good. ;)

Looks like I can't make the Newmarket show now because of a training course I have to go on for work. It's typical as it is by far the closest of all recent shows over the years yet I'll be in flipping Middlesborough then. Oh well. Maybe Newbury is still on the (race)cards.

I don't think you should "fix" anything...the pic might not be what you'd hoped for in your head (and who doesn't have pics like that) but it captures the moment and how you felt at the time. The pic might not be what you hoped for but it's real - you have a pic of Meat making your eyes pop, that ain't a bad thing ;)

I'm in the Hard Rock opposite the cinema, if they come in I'll ask!.
Should probably add I was going to Manchester before he wrote that! :-P
Must admit I did have a bit of a face-palm moment when Meat posted their plans (in a thread which came up on Facebook and Twitter!) ... can imagine groups of fans turning up at Manchester cinemas! :?
Maybe they went in trekkies disguise.

Don't get me started on Middlesboro. It starts at the train station - how to make an architectural masterpiece into a soulless melancholy.... Continues in the town centre - ripped of all soul. At least I usually return with a happy feeling because it's a guaranteed away point or thre in the footbal season.
Don;t get me started on the riverside. A soulless place.....
Music for goals....
The A19 is the best thing about it, and even then, you hit a cloud of smog, get stuck in traffic on a flyover, and once it starts moving again are are grateful to find yourself in Sunderland of all places - another equally desolate place.
At least you have David Coverdale. Then again....
Uurgh!.

My right ear has been a bit sore the last few weeks. Used some drops and had syringing done today. Unbelievable how much stuff came out. Probably enough to make an actual candle with! My hearing has changed quite a bit now and feels a bit fresher.
I highly recommend the syringing if you have a bit of a wax problem too. Definitely don't use cotton buds! They only push the wax further done the canal it seems.
Hopefully I can enjoy the Meaty gig in Manchester even more now! I should think so! :D

I've only ever had it done once, when I suddenly lost hearing in one ear, hated every second of it (I HATE my ears being touched) and they had real problems doing it because (apparently) I have very narrow channels in my ears! Oh, and it didn't make any difference to my hearing, which just came back by itself about three days later!

Playlist for the drive over to Manchester:
Bat 1
Bat 2 (Collector's edition with live CD).
Welcome To The Neighbourhood
Couldn't Have Said it Better.
Bat 3 as a backup in case there is heavy traffic along the way (doesn't mean I don't want to hear it, just I think I might not get to it with the total 5 hours of driving)
That actually reminds me that I still need to order the WTTN special edition! I'm on that now.
I'm also thinking of buying a USB record player, to blast through my studio speakers in the music room and start a Meat Loaf LP collection. Want to get a comfy bean bag as well and start listening to music a bit more.

Paul Crook said he thought it was a great record but agreed the production perhaps lacked somewhat. In fact he said he thought Peter Mokran from CHSIB did an excellent job production wise. I agree with that as well.
People who said at the time they could hear Meat's voice being spliced together on Bat 3 must have shit in the ears. No way can you hear that. I simply don't believe it.

Its Just Bad For Good that really sticks out bad production wise. I went into detail n each track but BFG needs a remix or something.
