Some of you may remember a while ago when David Beckham had a very ill little girl as his mascot before a Man United game, she carried an oxygen tank.

Well according to the news, Russel Watson has covered Meat's Is Nothing Sacred and is releasing it as a charity single in order to raise money for the charity that this little girl is part of.....opinions! lol

To be honest I think it's a wonderful song and I hope it does make alot of money to help this girl and others like her. However - I doubt that it will be anywhere near as powerful as the original ( I might be wrong! ) and this is such a petty thing, but seeing as Sacred wasn't as successful as say, Paradise or Bat Out Of Hell - not many people are going to know that the orginal was by Meat! :(

 I do agree that the song is in a good cause, but did it really have to be this song. After all,Is Nothing Sacred is a song about the end of love.Surely they could have picked or (let's be really radical 8O ) wrote a song more coherant song to the subject.
I heard a short clip of it on the news yesterday and I wasn't impressed at all.
I also agree with Lucy that many people will think this is an original song.It is suprising (and somewhat scary) how many songs coming out now are actually covers.I can't count the amount of times i've heard what I thought was a new song only to hear the original version later on.
I just wish that Jim Steinman and Don Black could have stoped it.
I hope the charity does well, but I think anyone who covers a Meat Loaf song should be given 500 lines "I am not a rock god" and made to go to bed without their tea.

I think people might find out it is a Meat song.

Terry Wogan, (BBC Radio2 7:30-9:30am) King of breakfast radio...... is playing the Meat version most days and making sure that everyone knows it is being covered but that he will keep playing the original..

Three cheers for terry

I just hope Russel Watson made a good job of it, Altough i've never heard the cover version and on that other subject that says about this Mr.Russel Watson covering Meat Loaf's song Is Nothing Sacred. But i prefer the oringinal Is Nothing Sacred anyway.
