FOr my wedding, the one thing the wife let me take care of/have any input whatsoever in was the music. Granted, this meant a lot of Meat!
We walked into the reception, introduced as "a couple for the first time" to Couldnt Have Said It Better.
My mom and I danced to Forever Young (in honor of my dad who sadly died a year before the wedding).
And, HEAVEN CAN WAIT for one of the slow dances. Not that this is my favorite song or anything, but when I met Jim Steinman a few weeks before, i asked him which of his songs would be the best wedding song, because FCOL would be my pick but it was too long and i refuse to edit it. He said Heaven Can Wait, so that was that!
But as we specifically asked the DJ to avoid any "standards" (YMCA, Macarena, chicken dance, etc), no Paradise :(.
we also had requested total eclipse of the heart but it never came up.
Congratulations on the wedding!
Sounds like the most perfect reception music! :D
Wow you met Jim 'GOD' Steinman?!!! Lucky you!!!! :D

My friend Wendy and I will be hitting 40 within 3 months of each other in 2 years time and we have decided to have a joint Meaty party.
We are planning it already as its gonna be a BIG party. Andy Pryke has agreed to sing for us, so watch this space!

Congrats Mate... though it's left me wondering.... would Meat every agree to perform live at a wedding for someone? I'm sure there's a cost to it.... but would he?

I'll play the drums ;) ;)
I remember a Welsh fan asking Meat on a radio phone-in (during the time he was promoting either The Very Best Of or CHSIB ... can't remember without looking it up) if he would sing at her daughter's wedding. His reply, "Not a snowball's chance in hell!"

Congratulations on your wedding.
It must have been absolutely amazing to meet Jim in person. I hope he and OTT come over to England soon, I would love to see the show (and him!)

Congratulations! My wedding will definately have Meat Loaf music, regardless of who I marry - it just wouldn't be a Lucy day otherwise!!
And as for meeting Jim.... everyone laughed the first time I met Meat and almost passed out...I don't know what I'd do if I met Jim!!!!!

Anyone seen that Vicar of Dibley episode where Elton John's meant to be opening the fair but it's actually a cousin of Alice's, and when Reg Dwight appears Alice is passed out on the floor of Geraldine's living room? That would be me if I ever met Meat or Jim
