Despite one evening of watching Mars Attacks on Sky One, and every other advert being for Charlie and the Chocolate factory (which did get rather annoying after a while! Incidentally, I reckon the song on the trailer could be a very effective torture device if listened to often enough!) or behind the scenes programs, etc, I saw it yesterday and loved it! I was initially afraid that Depp as Wonka would annoy me like the trailers eventually did, but I was proved wrong by the end :) (btw, Tink? I have nothing against Mr Depp at all! Please don't take that the wrong way!)
So, that's my two cents, everyone feel free to add your own!

I saw War Of The worlds the other week, I know it has been out a bit but i thought it was a good film, a little far - fetched in some respects but on the whole a great film! :D:D
Wedding Crashers, Fantastic Four and Batman Begins
Well I have seen War Of The Worlds recently, which imho sucked big time because it was just special effects (very good) with absolutely no plot and a pathetic ending. Worst Spielberg movie I've seen so far.
And I've seen Mr. And Mrs. Smith which sucked a little less than WoW - but not much.

Is that a don't go see it? I was going to try and see it but haven't had the time nor the inclination to get to a cinema.

But it does have Miss Jolie in it

Sorry but she doesn't float my boat, I wouldn't go and see a film because she was in it. Halle Berry, now that's a different story.
Is that a don't go see it? I was going to try and see it but haven't had the time nor the inclination to get to a cinema.Depends. It has it's moments and I guess I would have liked it a little more if Jolie, Pitt and the other actors wouldn't speak with potatoes in their mouths (or if the acoustics in that cinema would have been better). It's kinda difficult to follow a movie in a foreign language when you understand just 2/3 of it.

Mmmmmmmm Johnny Depp.....
Gotta say I didnt like Mr and Mrs Smith, War of the worlds *it was a date...not very good romantic material*, still gotta see Chocolate Factory, but I maintain my claim that the Die Hard Trilogy, The Fifth Element, Armageddon and almost every other Bruce Willis film (except Death Becomes Her as thats kinda lame) still RULEZ. Oh and From Hell with Johnny Depp is also brilliant. As is Pirates...DAMMIT IM TOO SHALLOW!!
Mmmmmmm Bruce Willis....[/drool]

I have the same birthday as mr Willis! Fair few years in between, though! Think my fave Willis movie was 6th Sense. One of all time faves was Jurassic Park, which came out the same year as Bat 2!
The Island is a good film
The new Dukes of Hazzard is total and utter rubbish compared to the original!

Me too, was dragged along by the kids.....was great laugh:D
Serenity, I was told it was boring and my friend fell asleep during it, but it was ok, funny in places.
Watching the new Batman just now ...pretty good so far.
Been to the screenings on campus a couple of times since I got here as they tend to get films the week before they are out on DVD as well as showing older films and films that have just been brought out on DVD. But today did my first trip to the odeon in town to see "Serenity". Was a bit random - half way through my lecture a friend of mine turned to me and went "Do ya fancy a trip to the cinema later?" - see, I have spontanity! ;) The film is pure Joss Whedon, with some brilliant lines, though there were a few moments that didn't fit quite right. Has fantastic fight choerography, with one of the characters in particular.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride!:D Enjoyed it, but Joanna Lumley's character looked nothing like I imagined it would. Victor was cute, though!:-)
The new Narnia film.
It's fantastic.

Only thing with Corpse Bride was that there were too many spiders and skeletons in for my liking, both of which i'm scared of! :yikes:

Just saw: Four Brothers
Wow... that is a really great movie!! go out and see it!
The 40 Year Old Virgin was amazing, Andrew and I went to see it thinking it would be pretty funny but the whole cinema were laughing out loud, absolutely brilliant.
R, I cant believe you didn't like Angelina Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith!!!! I made the mistake of seeing that with Andrew - our relationship almost ended right there!! Really good film though!!
When is The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe out?!! A childhood favourite!!!
December 1st Lucy - and you will love it!
R, I cant believe you didn't like Angelina Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith!!!!I didn't say I didn't like Miss Jolie. :bleh:
I said I could hardly understand half of the movie because either Pitt, Jolie and company had potatoes in their mouths, or the cinema acoustics were really bad. The movie has its moments, but I have seen better ones.
i havn't seen anything good.... poo...
:D :D :D
