I saw him in that at the Empire! :D I really enjoyed it too! I was closer to crying at that than I was for Miss Saigon!!!
Strange, I was just thinking about posting this topic last night in bed!
Seen Whistle Down the Wind twice, really love that!
Blood Brothers was great, me and Mam liked "Tell Me its not true before" we saw it and when we realised it was in Blood Brothers we knew we'd be in tears by the end!
Waiting to see Beauty and the Beast later this month, and to get booked for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!!

This is the original car from the movie at the Sunderland airshow in July :-)
Miss Saigon - without a doubt one of the most emotional musicals i have ever seen. have seen it far too many times :oops: and have yet to see anyone manage to not start crying when Kim sings The Sacred Bird and then shoots herself with his gun :(
Les Miserables is also a bloody good show - plenty of powerful songs.
I'm quite in to rock and roll muisic so things like Buddy and "three steps to heaven" also rank fairly highly with me.
My current list of things to see are Woman in White, Phantom (preferably with Crawford but that ain;t gonna happen!), Tanz Der Vampires (preferably the german version) and the newish Elvis musical (can't remember the name!)
And I seem to recall a chappie on here is waiting for me to win the lotto so i can fund his meat-inspired musical!!:cool:
Just seen Needmoremeat's post and it reminded me of Blood Brothers!
Fantastic!!!!
When I saw it I was at the Alhambra in Bradford and when we left at nearly midnight, the little church tower behind the theatre was playing "Tell Me It's Not True" on the bells. Everyone was just stood in the middle of the road listening to it again!!

Forgot to mention Jesus Christ Superstar and Starlight Express! Love the song "Rolling Stock" from Starlight. The actor who played Jesus I'd seen him in the first Messiah series only a couple of weeks beforehand on UKGold! :D I had to prevent myself from laughing when Jesus came out on stage to a really cool electric guitar riff! Loved that bit! While I was watching it I thought it could do witha little humour, but when it came in the form of Herod, I thought it had came at the wrong time. During the crucifixion scene there was not a sound in the auditorium for ages, simply awesome.
Also, liked it in blood Brothers when the disco ball comes down at the beginning and it reflects around the whole auditorium, it was beautiful! :D
i'm going there in oktober with a friend:D
to the Tanz der Vampire..
i liked the lion king...
I'm still loving We Will Rock You!!

Miss Saigon - I'd give my life for you is an absolutely fantastic song
I love a lot of the music from Les Mis too although haven't yet had the chance to see it :(
In no particular order:
Tanz der Vampire (Stuttgart)
We Will Rock You (London - but would love to see Patti, Paul & John in the Las Vegas production!)
Notre Dame de Paris (London - with Patti as Esmeralda)
Whistle Down The Wind (London)
Rent (London)
Also had a lot of fun at The Blues Brothers Review at The Whitehall Theatre in London.

It probably isn't everybody's cup of tea Chris. It's a very thought provoking musical and contains some pretty harrowing moments especially when one of the characters, Angel, dies as the result of AIDs.
In a nutshell ... Rent was inspired by the Puccinni opera La Boheme. It centres around two friends, Roger and Mimi, and deals with issues such as AIDs, death, loss, friendship, communal living and the everyday lives of a group of friends pursuing their vocations and struggling to pay the rent on their Lower East Side loft in Manhattan.
Sadly Rent's creator Jonathan Larson himself died from an AIDs related illness before his musical became a huge success on Broadway and The West End.
Diane
I will hafta go and see it sometime.
I also want to see Hair
One of my cousins in America went to see Hair when it first opened as she was a music reviewer covering new openings. It featured some meat loaf chappie!! And she has the original programmes/publicity material for it!!! She also reviewed More than You Deserve!!! I am working on ehr to dig out the reviews to post on here!!
I'd love to see Rent. I heard there was a film being made of it.
Also, Hair will be out in the West End by the end of the month I think! I really want to go see that! :D

Saw Beauty and the Beast last night! :))
Wasn't too keen on the Beast being more of a comedy character at times as well as his initially fearsome selfish self, though, and Lefou was annoying. Gaston, Lumiere and Cogsworth and the Wardrobe were good, though, and it was so clever how they did all the costumes and effects :D

Just wondering ....
Is "Blood Brothers" the same one that the Cassidy brothers wrote? David and Shaun?
Always wanted to see that one, but never got the chance.

I believe it was written by a guy called Willy Russell. ( but I may be wrong!!)
I went to see the producers at christmas and it was fantastic!I wish i could of seen it with nathan lane and lee evans in it, but the 2 actors that we saw were just as good, i would recomend it to anyone!
Blood Brothers was written by Willy Russell and the main cast recording is the Cassidy brothers.
It is an excellent show.
Personally I am hoping to go see Rocky Horror when it goes on tour this year.

Thanks, Chris and Scotty. I'd obviously misinterpretted something David Cassidy said many years ago about the show. Still would like to have seen the show anyway.

Saw Cats last night, and was pleasantly surprised! I'd seen it on TV and was bored stiff watching it, but it was much better live! Mam and I decided to see it two hours before the show started, and we got good seats at the end aisle of the stalls, so the cats kept coming along right past us! Creepy at first, but we soon got used to it! We must have met about five of them each, and i got my programme signed by Old Deuteronomy, as he sat on stage during the interval! Also, there were large Christmas type lights strung around the auditorium, and when they were on or flashing it looked lovely, the place looked like a large Christmas tree!
