Okay, we all know the Big Guy has a birthday coming up and what better way to celebrate this event than causing a little national exposure for Meat Loaf? We, the fans, have the power to actually make the entire music industry notice how loyal of a fanbase Meat Loaf has. If the "powers that be" see that Meat Loaf is still a draw, it will be easier for him when his album is released. What I am proposing is OPERATION VOTE MEAT. American Mtv has this silly little call-in video show called Total Request Live (TRL) that has become a tool by which the "marketability" of an artist is measured. Whether or not an artist is "hot" is measured by whether or not he/she/they are on TRL. Now, here is where we (the fanbase come in). TRL is a popularity race. The video does not need to be new, just be among the top 10 videos voted for that day. We need to push our influence and VOTE MEAT to get him on the TRL countdown on September 27th to celebrate his birthday. To assist in voting uniformity, I would suggest the video for I'D DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE (BUT I WON'T DO THAT), the Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman masterpiece, as the video to vote for. The reason I suggest this one is that to date it has been his biggest "hit" on the charts. What do you all think? Can we make Meat proud and get him on the show? If NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK can show up on the show out of the clear blue, why not a rock and roll legend like Meat? I will post more details of how to vote (you do not need to be in America to vote) as the day gets closer!!
