Here's my whole story, how I became a Meat Loaf fan!

Time to introduce myself, too. You know me under the name Garrett. My real name is Stefan. I'm from Germany and I'm a Commercial Assistant for Data Processing. I'm 22 (soon 23) years old and I'm a Meat Loaf fan for nearly (only) three years. In 1993 I heard "Anything For Love" and "Objects" and I love both. In 1995 I heard "I'd Lie For You" and I love it, too. I also knew "Bat Out Of Hell" since I saw it on VH-1. But it took nearly five years to get the ignition to be fan. In early 2000, I saw "The Very Best Of" in a music shop in my hometown. The memory remained. I remembered the songs I loved once upon a time and shouted out: "Oh man, these songs were so great, so I bought "The Very Best Of". I wanted to know more songs of this big man. I listened to "The Very Best Of", but soon I knew, that it wasn't enough. I was overwhelmed! I needed more! So I went back to the music shop and also bought "Bat Out Of Hell 2". So it was my first Meat album I owned. I was overwhelmed again. I loved this bombastic and gigantic sound. Next, I ordered "Welcome To The Neighbourhood" to have the album with "I'd Lie For You" on it. After I listened to that, I could surely say: "It seems to me, that I'm getting a fan." Then I entered the internet to get more information about Meat Loaf and also Jim Steinman. I read a short bio of Meat Loaf, some further information about his career and the discography. Now I exactly knew the titles of all the albums. And I wanted to get it all!! So "Bat Out Of Hell" was next, then came "Bad Attitude". The fith album I bought was "Blind Before I Stop". Now I could say: "Yes, I'm a fan now!". In summer 2000 I watched some videos of Meat. I already knew the great vids to "Anything For Love", "Objects", "Bat Out Of Hell" and "I'd Lie For You". And now I saw the videos to "Rock'n'Roll Dreams Come Through", "Getting Away With Murder", "Not A Dry Eye In The House", "Dead Ringer" and "Is Nothing Sacred". Later I bought the "Hits Out Of Hell" video and saw a few more vids. Now I was trying to get "Midnight At The Lost And Found" and "Deadringer", but at the music shop in my hometown, they weren't able to order them. It took a few weeks till I found a site on the internet, where I could get them, both. Now, I was the luckiest man in the world! In the middle of 2001, I came to mlukfc.com for the first time. But I was only a flying visitor. I became a registered member in May 2002. I found it is a superb site. I reached the information, that a new studio album is planned under the name "Funhouse". And I couldn't await it! A short time after that, I read that it has a new title called "Testify". But I didn't want to wait for so long. I knew that Meat also had an album called "Meat Loaf & Stoney", but I also knew, that isn't for sale on the market anymore. Okay, there was site on the internet, where I could get the vinyl, but I haven't a player to listen it. And there also were the spectacular rare songs. On several fan sites, I could only listen to a few adaptions of the rare songs. And if there was a site, which offered a few of the rare songs with the whole length, they had a very bad quality. But I fought again, to have these songs. Several weeks ago, at the end of the last year, I came to a site, where I could get all of the missing songs on CD. And thanks to the man, who sent it to me! Thanks for your pleasure! :D Thanks to David! And now, I'm burning like a naked wire to get "Couldn't Have Said It Better" and I also waiting for Meat's next world tour. He will do 10 to 14 concerts here in Germany. I guess, I'll visit all!

And ahh, if you want to know why I have the name Garrett, here it is. Garrett is the leading character of my most favourite computer games "Thief - The Dark Project" and "Thief 2 - The Metal Age". I'm also a great fan of these games like I'm a fan of Meat Loaf. And I can't await "Thief 3" like I can't await "Couldn't Said It Better"!

Hi Meatloafuk-2003!

I'm White of High from Hungary and I'm 21! I study Geography and Culture Antropology in university. My dream is my name... if you know what does it mean.
I'm a fan about 10 years... or more! First I have seen a video about a fat man and his voice was a wonder. But I didn't know who was he. After I've heard "I'd Do Anythig For Love" and I noticed his name: Meat Loaf!!!
But that video I haven't seen anymore... I think it was "For Crying Out Loud" in concert!

So, lot luck here and I'm waiting your opinion about all Meat song in the Tyre Tracks & Broken Hearts section!

Hi Meatloafuk-2003, I release you and you had my word "Thanks!" But you don't have to call me "Master" and you no longer have to follow my dirty work and you said it good enough on the other thread and you win all three prizes! One question; why can't I E-Mail you for the prizes?

Shane

M Bison:

Why should I be insulted?

M.Bison
04 Feb 2003, 01:21
Don't worry now Shane! Your free and you'll never get insulted now!
The reason why was because in the Couldn't Have Said It Better thread I taught you were a yanker! And I had to stop the insult or R. would've banned me!

Shane
04 Feb 2003, 04:47
What did I say in that thread that made you think I was a yanker?

Shane
04 Feb 2003, 10:47
Well, as the info to the left says, my name is Shane and I am from Palmerston North, New Zealand. I am 24 years old. I was at university studying part time, but I have taken a break to look for full time work, and maybe I'll go back in a few years.

M.Bison
04 Feb 2003, 17:14
You said on the other thread that Patti or Pearl should be in the videos while I say we should let Dana Patrick be in the videos and Patti and Pearl should continue their role on the tours! And Meat, if your doing a video to one of your duet songs on the new album would you please, please, please use Dana Patrick in that video! And for Meatloafuk-2003, the name M.Bison is the name of the bad guy in the Street Fighter games!
