Any chance of the messages on the front page getting shifted, updated or something?

If the news is classed as the community forum posts then yes.

Now I get it - you are talking about the Where/When/What/Who table, correct?
This table should update every time you access the frontpage and display the threads with the most recent post in it.
hy do you ask?

Nope below that section. You have Bat 3 recording starting Nov 9th, Kasim Sulton and two new releases and the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina posts, the latter being 2 months old.

That's just news. They get updated from time to time.

Which brings me back to my original question:

I'd have though WWRY closing might have been new news since it has members of NLE in it.
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/index.php?id=33150 mentions Meat Loaf in Bloodrayne opening on Jan 6th, that's fairly new news.
