omg Natural Born Killers put me off Woody Harrelson for LIFE ! ... but i do so still adore Robert Downey Jr ... :-) ...
... Lakeview Terrace is the name of the film maybe ? the film starring Samuel L Jackson as a nasty bit of git policeman ... lord ... what an awful feel it gave me... and i felt frightened for the couple living next to him ... nowhere to run ... nowhere to hide ... he's a cop with his cop friends ... just awful ...

I think NBK is a very strange and trippy movie. When I think of it, I always have that 50's-sitcom/rape scene in mind or the pharmacy robbery that was lit entirely in green. I always feel I woke up from a nightmare when I finished watching it. There are actually several murderers who claim to have killed because of this movie. It's strange but fascinating.
If you get the chance watch 'True Romance'. Both basically the same movie, but headed in a completely different direction.
AVATAR...yeah, baby...
How was it??
Last one I watched was Watchmen. Rather mediocre action flick. Rented it as it has Jackie Earle Haley starring, who is gonna play Freddy Krueger in the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

Enjoyable, Alan Bennett at his writing best but watching a bunch of southern actors trying to do a Yorkshire accent was a little cringeworthy at times :s
Princess and the Frog and The Lovely Bones, both of which were pretty good. I'd recommend both :) The Lovely Bones was really well directed and used sound really well, although not all of the book is there, but then that's to be expected. The Princess and the Frog is well a Disney film enough said.

This is as good as a b-movie can get! Although nothing for people who have problems with insects. They actually thought of a REASON for the insects to mutate, not just atomic contamination or something like that. Have to say I was a bid disappointed with the end though, when the guy suddenly survived after all with no explanation whatsoever.

 Inglorious Basterds.
Film seemed to drag quite a bit for me.
Also the story didn't quite mesh. Was more like a series of scenes than a flowing story.
Found it ironic that if it were a film commiting war crimes against prisoners instead of the other way around, the film would be taken in a completly different context.
As it was, Brad Pitt's charachter is a hero for killing prisoners.
The scene where the sergent refuses to give up the other squad is a prime example.
If it were a German threatening to kill an American if he didn't give up his comrades, then the German would be the typical Hollywood nazi bogieman (invariably he'd be a black uniformed Gestapo officer, even though the Gestapo were plain clothes and the Allgermeine SS who DID wear black uniforms were more pencil pushers than anything else.Much more likely to wield a rubber stamp than a gun.But Hollywood can't do without them. There's even one in Basterds) while the prisoner would be portrayed as heroic and self sacrificing for not handing his friends over to the enemy.
As it was, the German is shown as a convinced nazi who refuses to comply because he's a fanatic.
The character change of Zoller also made no sence.
All in all, not a film i'll be dashing to see again.

quite entertaining, good acting by Mike Myers
... i watched a film made for HBO titled Temple Grandin ... it's based on the life of Temple Grandin ... a high functioning autistic who got herself through to getting a master's degree ... she works in the field of animal behavior ... particularly cattle ... i heard her interviewed Friday on NPR... i find her speech pattern and thoughts annoying ... but was curious to know more about her ... the film left me in tears... of joy for her ... a curious thing in the film ... Grandin was diagnosed with autism at the age of four... in 1951 ... i was surprised to find it was that early ... as my brother wasn't diagnosed until he was in his early 30s in the early 1980s ... he's deaf as well and was said to be unable to be educated due to his attention span ... but then i suppose that's a catch 22 of the autism... perhaps if he had been diagnosed earlier things would be different for him ... he's pretty much genius in my eyes... he did learn to write the letters of the alphabet ... taught himself the cursive version... and went on to write words ... street lights always facinated him and he would draw pictures of them... and make models of them out of clay ... and then get small lights and hook them to a battery to light them ... this all with no education ... if only ...

quite forgettable, in fact I hardly remembered anything from watching it at the cinema.
IMO they relied too much on the popularity of the book. They worked their way through the plot step by step but didnt really try to make a good movie.
From Hell
Mr Depp is usual brilliance, a supporting cast of well known UK TV actors prompted repeated cries of "What's he/she been in before" and some shocking special effects / prosthetic makeup (What is John Merrick doing in the Jack The Ripper Story anyway?)

Avatar. I thought it was a good film but it focused too much on style over substance. Take away the CGI and you're left with an overly long, excessively preachy tale. The CGI ranged from awesomely fantastic to average and there were times where it didn't look quite right. I don't think the technology is ready to do a film like this, almost but not quite. That said I did enjoy the film, but it's not something I'm dying to see again. I do want one of those sit in robots though!

Iron Man on blu ray
was in the mood for some good old fashioned hollywood-blockbuster-popcorn-cinema
The Happening.
Not Shyamalan's best, but still a good film, beautifully shot.
I watched ''the night listener'' with robin williams last night. very strange movie but, williams is a genius actor, he can play very funny roles to serious
it was worth watching wish i hadn't bought it tho
i watched Blacktop last night for the first time and it was very impressive :D

I thought it was utter sh*t (sorry)
especially when the wind started to threaten people, while it was actually the flowers wanting to kill them :wtf:
gotta agree partially though, the cinematography was good
... Aliens ... and pardon ... but i still don't understand if the beast (alien being) is supposed to be part machine and part flesh ... the piece that comes out its mouth looks metallic to me ...and it's too dark to get a good look ...

 This Is It - MJ, seventh viewing and my eyes still dampened :(.
... Sleepy Hollow... starring Johnny Depp ... he's hysterically funny in a subtle way and looks so very handsome in his 18th Century garb... nice ! ... and Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman pre-headless... TOO much...

It was incredible and funny.
Go see it in 3D !!
... King Kong ... the version featuring Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange... what horrid special effects... i remember all the silliness when it came out in theaters ... it was being insisted upon it wasn't a man inside a monkey suit... oh please cut me a break... lol ...

probably the stupidest movie idea ever.
In this one Jason gets killed, resurrected 500 years later, killed again then accidently turned into a robot :wtf:
Seems to be a comedy.

I just watched Lost Boys again with Corey Haim. I am going to watch Lucas today. RIP Corey.
good on you ! ... Lost Boys is a fave film of mine... i was so terribly upset and saddened to hear of Corey H's death ... his friend Corey Feldman's always been a fave actor of mine ... when see that face of his ... i know him ... most young actors' faces today are lost to my eye... they all seem to blend together ... it's probably due to i don't concentrate on them like today's young fans do ... anyroad... i digress... Corey F was on Larry King last night ... it seems he's matured ... he's made his amends with people he did wrong in the business... and he had some very insightful things to say about his friend and those he felt should have helped his friend ...
indeed RIP Corey ... xo

Bruce Almighty
The Crazies, i highly recommend it, plenty of murder and mayhem, and lots of gore ! A storyline that is believable in this day and age, government cover up, regarding a toxic leak ( biological warfare ), sent virtually everyone nuts and killings a plenty !
Klute
I expected it to be more exciting but Jane Fonda's performance was just great.
... Bridget Jones Edge Of Reason ... and i laughed so hard at the ski scene ? ... i woke the house !!! ... lol ... i was SCREAMING laughing with tears flowing ... i'm reading Bridget Jones Diary ... and do have Edge of Reason to read as well ... i'm very looking foward to it ... lol ... i adore the Bridget Jones character attitude of "this shouldn't be so hard" ... rolling ... then stepping in tins of Shepard's Pie (in the book) ... and the ski scene ... rolling ...

I was a bit hesistant, as a lot of people said they were disappointet by this one. Was convinced with what I saw. Sure, it's not the next Godfather, but if you look for a huge action movie with LOTS of suspense, I dont think it could get a lot better than this!

That's good to hear, I want to get that soon.
My most recent is Twilight New Moon. Don't know whether it should count as a film or not, as absolutely nothing happens whatsoever.
Before that it was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, which was thoroughly entertaining, much better than the recent Potters.

gotta say I changed my mind on this one.
Never really liked it, based on a cut-for-tv version I've seen at the age of ~13.
Today I took the time to watch the whole thing on DVD, and now I'm convinced this is a great movie. Especially the cage scene underwater was great!
