View Full Version : Who's the BEST female singer Meat Loaf has worked with?
Pudding

Who do you think THE best female singer Meat Loaf has worked with is? Not just touring, but studio as well.
I would dearly have loved to say Elaine Caswell for this, but since I can't find any evidence of them ever collaborating together, then I won't. Instead I'll go for Karla DeVito.
Patti is superb, but Karla seemed to bring more dramatics on stage, especially when she shimmied and her boobs were bouncing out of the side of her top
Pud
Carla on stage. It is just the look in her eyes when she is on stage. And she is really awesome in the paradise vid.
Karla was great but Patti is in a league of her own.
Diane
Patti Patti Patti!! Without a single doubt!!
There's only one gal in my mind and thats Patti, she's brilliant! :D
Undoubtly ELLEN FOLEY > remember her fantastic voice on studio-take of "Paradise". She made a superb solo-LP in 1979 ( Nightout ), two more LP's and took part im Jim's Pandora's Box.
Sorry for the other girls - imo Ellen beats them all !

Patti she's so cool, and can sing amazingly!!!
There's only one girl and thats Patti :D
Those who came before were good.. Ellen Foley and Karla De Vito, but.. Patti is the best of them all, definiately Meat's best on stage partner hands down. To watch the 2 of them on stage, playing off each other, is such fun to watch, Patti keeps up with all and every antic Meat tries to pull over on her. I love what she adds to the shows. :D

It´s a very hard question?
Karla or Patti...
Karla is great but Patti...
I whould vote for Patti, because she´s the only one who can hold a candle to Meat (omg, was that the right phrase?). And I don´t mean just with her voice. I mean her complete behavior on stage.

What is wrong with you people? The best female vocalist to have worked with was Mrs. Loud.

19 May 2006, 16:26
Lorraine Crosby was the best voice... on stage? I don't know... I have never been in concert because there is not a chance...
Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think Meat ever sang live with Lorraine Crosby/Mrs. Loud ?!

Sorry guys, Patti has to be my least favorite of the bunch. She isn't bad, but I prefer the others.

Lorraine Crosby's voice is the best for me. Absolutely fantastic, why did Steinman not work more with her? (Did she do the demo of IDAFL before Bat 2??). I like her more than Elaine Caswell, who would be my second favuorite Stein-chick.
I love Ellen Foley too. Night out is a fantastic album and she's such a fantastic actress. Wolf w/ the red Roses bit. So good. And the Want Ad.
And then we come to the Live performers... I really haven't been that fond of any of them to be honest :? . I can not STAND Karla DeVito's voice. Listening to the various live in 78 recordings I've gathered... she is a pony of a severely diminished number of tricks. Likewise I hate the sound of those two sisters meat sung with in the late 80s. Oooooh they're probably even worse to my ear.
Patti is alrite, and good on stage. I don't love her voice, but she's good on stage. CC was better tho  . Not that I could hear her voice even a little bit on the nite. But one gets the impression that's not what her most important role on stage was ;) .
Who on earth sang 45 seconds of ecstasy? I like the sound of her voice too, not that its overly strained on such a pedestrian little ditty tho...

Amy & Elaine Goff were pretty good back in the '80s. It was amazing looking at Meat singing Paradise with Amy - the size difference between them was immense! lol!
And talk about being sexy....
But for the voice, it has to be Patti.

I´ve seen namely two or three clips of them, but I can say that I still feel the pain in my ears. There was a clip of Modern Girl somewhere, and they sang the backing line "gimme the future" as bad as possible,...ouch!

Patti. She has an incredible voice, and her & Meat perform so well together. Although I guess I'm a little biased because she's the only one I've seen live.
Hey what about his duo with Cher back in the 80s they really sounded great together.
I already said this several times, but due to the latest events and the sad news today I just would like to say it again:
It is and ALWAYS will be Patti!

At this moment: Patti still is!!!!! but..... its gonna be very interesting when Aspen is not so nervous anymore.....
Patty's alsome, but the Golff Twins in the 80's were better. They did the sickest paradises and Dead Ringers with Meat and even duetted him in solo songs Modern Girl, Blind Before I Stop, and others.....

Erm in your opinion.
I personally prefere Patti.
Have only seen video footage of him singing with 4 different female duet partners, I have never seen him live. Patti has the best voice, can actually carry a tune AND gives an impression of chemistry.
I cant go to a concert till I'm 21.
So I haven't seen them either, just footage.
Golff twins rock!

Would your parents not take you?
No, its that they ban people 20 and lower out for this tour. We Couldn't go to any CHSIB tour dates because my dad was in the hospital (god bless him) and through Hair of the Dog. Way too young in 1995 for the WTTN tour and never knew about 199's storyteller's one.

But 13 is impressive. Not many loafers are teens.
I proform Meat Loaf every Dance, and upcoming Formal and they still think he only sings paradise and AFL.

well yea, I'm in the US. UK respects Meat Better, People here like Meat, but not a impressive percentage of Teens. Hes on Practically Every Radio Station in the UK. I have been there.
So I'm Not Surprised at all about the massive amount of Tennage Loafies there.
In PA, where I live , no such thing. They lost even more respect for him when he wore that Cowboys Jersy. BUT To make this on Topic, They thought the girl he sang with is "OK"

I dont love CC, but I dont hate her, but I think she goes well with Meat & I would love to see her doing Paradise. Personally I think she would be much better than Aspen.
I really like CC :)) Not only is she a great singer, she has a lot of personality and is fun to watch on stage. But, as much as I like her, I just can't see her doing Paradise. I think Aspen is coming into her own now, and I'm really looking forward to seeing her doing Paradise with Meat again during the upcoming tour :-)

patti was amazing, she had the voice, the looks, the stage presence, the acting skills, the timing, the humour, the chemistry with meat, patti and meat were an amazing package and worked so well together. it takes a special voice to add that extra something to a meat show, and patti had that special voice... i miss her... she was special. miss patricia rousso, you were wonderful and i thank you for all the shows and performances that you gave. you were fantastic!

I think Patti is probably the best due to the amount of years she has toured with Meat.
But I preferred the line-up for Bat 3 - and Aspen in the band. The songs were new, fresh and awesome. Not that Patti isnt, but it was nice to have the change, after all we couldnt change Meat so it had to be someone else.
