Is this album really the last of Bat?:??:
Is it targeting as a No. 1 single ( in the UK ) for late 2006?:??:
And What then?
I think this album might be the last of Meat Loaf ( as a recording artist ). In some ways thats good, he goes out ( hopefully ) on a high, in many, many more ways it's bad ( current music is largely boring and bland ).
Meat will be in his 60's in a few years and I'm just interested in a non-confrontational insite into what people think.

I think it might be, but Meats got to be careful of Mr.Blobby knocking him off the No.1 spot for Christmas.
And What then?
Dunno! Movies probably with the occasional tour

I wouldn't hold my breath on it not being. Depends on the success of this one.

I am a bloody good physiotherapist:twisted:
So Meat can tour until the end of days:twisted:
Definately think this will be the last album, go out on a high. I agree movies for the future, the odd tour in the next few years, but not beyond 5 years or so, too busy making movies, plus that dodgy knee. Hopefully the public see sense and give Meat another number one to add to 'Anything For Love', better than all that junk out nowadays. But all the best to Meat for the future, whatever that holds, only he knows this...... :D

I agree with this. I think it is the 'Last of Bat'. If the launch timing is right and the song is good Meat could get a UK #1. The Album will certainly be #1.
After that? Well I think what Tina Turner did was right, decide a date to retire and do it. I hope its 2010 after two more UK tour's.
I'm not into film's so I can't comment on that but like you say whatever he chooses to do I wish him well.

Just look at what is this week's #1, a song about a tractor! awful.
Whats in Meats favour is that he has a good following and proven track record. Unlike other's of his era Bat 3 isn't a 'come back', it is his latest album.
I just hope that Meat and is promo team realise that he is 'old' ( relatively speaking ) and go for an appropriate style i.e. don't make him look like an old man trying look young.
Watching top of the pop's on Sunday I thought 'Meat could wipe the floor with this lot' ( even Hard Fi who's CD i've got ).
One of my friends who loves Meat's music but has never been lucky enough to see him live commented on recent tour pictures of him 'doesn't he look old'.
Don't get me wrong I really want Meat to do well with Bat 3 but I think he and his people really need to think very carefully about the song they choose as a single and how he presents himself. I really hope he gets it right.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think you need to worry about that, because I think Meat's got a really good feel for this kind of thing. On the HOTD tour, he never came across as age-inappropriate, whether he was playing the young guy in Paradise and making people laugh, or playing his own age or somewhere in between. He seems to have a certain genius that way. And when your friend is finally lucky enough to see Meat perform live, he might not think he looks so old anymore! :D:D

HOTD was just a tour, so to some degree it doesn't matter if he's age-appropriate or innappropriate on stage, because people have already bought the tickets and will be in a certain euphoric mood, maybe with a bit of alcohol thrown in. So if he goofs around a bit, it doesn't matter as much.
But what I think Mike is saying is, people know he's in his 50's so if he's dressed like he wants to be in his teens or early 20's just to sell some records, that'll turn the public off as they'll think he's desperate to impress.

I thought you were a bit Smarter, Pud. No matter what the promotion will be or no matter what the album will sound, BOOH3 will enter the charts at number 1. I don't know much but I know this is a fact!

You don't need to get personal Bart, I'm only expressing an opinion.
But I'd like to know how you know that it's a fact Bat3 will enter the charts at No.1, when it hasn't even been released and won't be for at least another 9-10 months? I think I might need a better set of balls, because mine aren't crystal.
Pud
I was not getting personal. I should use smileys more often
Wait and see. It will get at number 1. And when it happens you're gonna say: damn, This Bartman was right all the time.

If Bat3 gets to No.1 then great, I hope it does, but there's no guarantees that it will, especially in its first week as you predicted. If it doesn't, I guarantee, that you'll NEVER live it down

Pud, I agree, to say it will be #1 is wrong, to hope it will be is good!
The British public can make very strange choices ! That's why I hope Meat gets it right.
If he gets it right then we are in for a real break from the sameness of current music.

I don't see what was strange about Mr Blobby knocking Meat Loaf off the top of the charts...LMAO
Pud
Mr Blobby knocked him from the first spot cause Meat was already 6 weeks in a row on top of the charts. So did Mr Blobby knocked him or did everybody in the UK already had a copy from Anything for Love? I bet the last is the thruth.
BOOH2 was the highest selling album in 199. What do you think will happen to BOOH 3?
Let's make a bet Pud. If it doesn't reach number 1 in the first week I will pay your ticket for your Last At bat Worldtour!

The Mr Blobby thing was a bit of sarcasm, that's why I put LMAO at the end.
I would take you up on your wager, except for some strange reason, I get the feeling you wouldn't keep your end of the deal.
I really hope Bat3 does enter the charts at No.1, but it's not guaranteed to do so.
Pud
thanx for the trust in me.
but it's not guaranteed to do so.
Exactly!
There is no guarantee, it only needs the release date of Bat III to coincide with the release date for Robbie Williams' or Kylie or U2 or (heaven help us) Chico or any other of a thousand artists next album and there'll be a struggle to reach No 1 in the first week.
What really matters I think is that the album generates the promotion that CHSIB didn't get, and achieves a decent level of media interest in terms of radio airplay and other promotions such as TV appearances etc.
At the end of the day Bat I did so well because it was such a fantastic record coupled with some slow burning promotion and alot of touring, Bat II did so well because it was such a fantastic record and the promition for it by Virgin was out of this world. Bat III needs something similar to ghet it off the ground and then the (hopeful) strength of the songs will keep it's momentum going.
you are gonna think about me next year....

FWIW I don't think it matters if the album gets to No. 1 in the first week, millionth, or never at all, IMHO what matters is that the millions of people all around the world who love Meat Loaf and his music get to enjoy some more of it. I don't have strong opinions about whether or not it'll be as good as Bat I or II, whether or not it "should" have Steinman's input, or anyone else's for that matter, I'm just enjoying the anticipation of waiting to hear it, and the hope that I'll be out there in the audience somewhere watching the great man perform some of the tracks, and some of my favourites from the other albums too.
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas :D
