With series 5 just starting in the UK last night, I was wondering if anyone else here is as addicted as I am to the show?:-)
I only began watching it last year when BBC1 showed the first series, but I'm all caught up chronologically;)
Was a funny review of the first two episodes of the new series in the metro paper today, referring to Jack as stalking corridors looking like an "intense peanut"! :lmao: It was all I could do not to burst out laughing on the bus home!

I've never watched 24 but I do intend to do so in the near future. Right now I am totally hooked to "Lost", it's a great series. It's worthwhile joining a DVD club I find as you can get all the television dvds relatively cheaply.
I'll probably be watching 24 pretty soon.

Never knew tv shows could be this addictive! I never believed it before I saw "Lost"! Someone warned me not to start watching "24" unless you have plenty of free time! :))

Great way to spend those shitty cold dark winter evenings anyway if you ask me.

Never got into 24 but I watched season 4 (just finished here) and thought it was quite good. I'll be watching seson 5 when it starts (whenever that'll be) but there's only so many times one man can save the world from crazy terrorists before it starts to lose interest.

I have to say i'm a huge fan of 24 and have all 4 seasons on DVD at the moment. I love it. The first two episodes of season 5 were awesome and I cannot wait until next sunday to watch the next two episodes. Paul.

Don't really like Lost, I'm afraid. Watched the first four episodes, but they didn't have me screaming at the TV like 24 did.
Whoever warned you about not watching 24 unless you have free time is absolutely right! For series 2, 3, and 4 I had the video/dvd set, either bought or borrowed, and spent all day for two or three days watching the whole thing, literally forcing myself away from TV to go to uni! Best way to watch it is on the BBC: no adverts at all, the shows just run straight on from each other without the credits or previouslys in between, and you're not stuck for hours watching one after the other!

Oh! i love lost and i really can't wait till series two. However, i love 24 a lot more. Personally, i think it's the greatest series ever on earth and i'm a self confessed addict.

Lost is crap. What's the odds of being in a plane crash on a tropical island, that's mysteriously inhabitited by some people who were themselves in a plane crash some years prior? I thought they were stretching the storyline for 3 episodes, but having a second season and talk of a third, just beggars belief.

But yeah I am mean you can say that about anything surely ?! What are the odds of something happening ?!
Star trek will never happen. Jurassic Park will never happen. King Kong will never happen Will 24 really happen in 24 hours ever to the same person 5 times?
Not sure that is a good reason to slag it off, is it? Fantasy is going to be a huge element in a series like that.
I prefer this over "little" stories like the ones in Desparate housewives, ER or other series that seem to go on forever.
Don't get me wrong I respect your opinion, but I think that whole coincidence thing is almost the most important element of Lost as far as I can see. You probably think it is rather repetitive and not your thing but I personally found this more a problem with other series. I was just quite blown away by the production quality of the series. But maybe this is equally as good in 24? I don't know.

They probably WILL milk lost as long as people watch it. I wouldn't be surprised if there are 5-7 series of it.

Wow! Imagine if Jurassic Park happened! I'd be there! That was my fave movie when I was younger!:D
One of the guys at uni has a flatmate who spent 13 hours watching lost one day then knocked him up at 2am to ask him to download the next episode! I thought I was bad watching 12 episodes of 24 in a day! But then, the reason I watched 24 was on recommendation from my brother who watched the entire first series in a day after intending to watch one DVD a day! I knew if my brother was impressed by it, then it must be really good, as he's really hard to impress.

Now watching 24 in 24 hours/one day is quite something!! :))

I think I would need a month to recover from that if I just did that in say a weekend or so.

I'm just wondering when they'll learn that taking Jack into custody in the middle of an operation is a BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!:lmao:
How about Sean Astin as Lynn McGill?...Strange seeing him in a suit after four years of seeing him as a hobbit!

:-) Yeah i agree, but sean is playing the part pretty well i think. I have to say i was quite shocked to see him there. I loved the way CTU organised that rescue attemp against the terrorists. That was just awesome. Do u know whether kim bauer will make an apperence in this series?

According to the main page for the show on http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0285331/
Kim is only in it for the first three series. My brother was disappointed she wasn't in any other series purely because she added an unintentional humour to the show:lol: And NOT for any other reasons: he can't think that way, he's a priest!

Haha:lol:. Yeh it left me screaming at the screen every time she managed to get herself kidnapped, but i also found it hilarious. I'm sure there was one other reason I wanted her to be in this series but i'm not quite thinking straight so i'll leave that till later i think.....
