Has anyone else noticed when Meat freaked out Patti during "Paradise" in the Melbourne concert DVD? When Meat tells her "I think it's time that you knew what kind of animals I like", she looks stunned that Meat would take her there. For a second she says "No No!" LOL. Fortunately Meat leads her into her routine by letting her go first. But I swear, if Meat would've mentioned the word "gerbil" at any point in the dialogue, Patti may have stormed off the stage with humiliation! LOL! I think it's hysterical how Meat loves to try something different everytime with the audience and his supporting players...sometimes to the point of almost embarrassing them! Hehehe!

Yeh, i see what you mean. I do doubt, however, that that was the affect Meat Loaf was desiring. I think it's purely down to coincidence. Funny anyway.

:D Not knowing anything about the gerbil story, Travis, can you enlighten me, please? This is, without publicly upsetting Patti, of course. :D You've peaked my interest.

LOL...it has nothing to do with Patti or Meat personally ;)

just an "animal love story" story that made the rounds in Hollywood, years ago.

Thanks, PrissLoaf, for that response. Hadn't heard the story obviously.

Nor Me!!! Please enlighten us! :D

I remember a few years back when I saw them at Sheffield, they were acting out paradise and Patti accidently kicked meat for real and it hurt him and they just burst out in a fit of hysterics, it was very funny to witness, and very spontanious!

I remember hearing somewhere (it might even be on the commentry on the MSO dvd) that meat has several version of that part of paradise that he can do ,

Did anyone else notice that in the commentary section, Meat refers to Bat Out Of Hell Two: To Hell and Back?

Last time I checked, it was BOOH II: Back Into Hell.

Yeah he does, the animals segment was also done at the concert that I went to in Newcastle, except that time it was a Guess The Animal game.

No, I missed that part. But it just goes to show that the commentary was unscripted and unrehearsed ..... which makes it a lot more fun to listen to :))

Didn't notice the mistake either...it was spontaneous (difficult spelling if one is Dutch)...and we are all human after all lol!

Right you are, Vicki...makes it so much more fun to listen to!

Love,
Mariella

Ok, this story (many, including myself, believe it to be a lie) has taken on a life of its own here in the states. It's an urban legend that became pretty popular here about 12-15 yrs ago. It involves actor Richard Gere and the rumors about him and a gerbil. Here's a link to the details. :

Like I said, I too believe it never happened, but it's been talked about on many TV shows, and internet sites, so it has taken on a life of its own over the years. Anyway, I really laugh when Meat "shocks" Patti with the "animals" line. Her "Ohhhhhhh no!" response never fails to crack me up! hehehe
