Need Your help!
Think about buying BBIS but donīt know if itīs worth the cost. The only song that I know from is Getting away with murder itīs good, but not great. How are the other songs?
At the amazon Z-Shop is only one copy, should i buy it?

I don't really think so, unless you want it so you can have a complete Meat Loaf collection. Bad Attitude and MATLAF are albums with much better songs in my opinion.

If you're a ML fan - you do have to have this album. Although it is considered one of the worst ones - I actually like it a lot. It's better to make up your own mind. I actually like it much better than Midnight At The Lost And Found.

BTW ... I'd say buy it, but then again I'm a completeist :))

Yeah I think the songs are really not that bad at all. I like "Execution Day", "BFIS", "Night of the Soft Parade" and "Rock and Roll Hero". I prefer this album over MATLAF I think. Like Andy, I'm a completist too so if anyone asks me should I buy this particular Meat Loaf album I'll always say yes as I've got all of them.

Me too...both on good album and the song. I am actually surprised that he has made a video out of Getting Away With Murder. I personally think that video is absolutely brilliant but song is...not the best on the album? Is it just me?

You know what I find amusing?

That when I respond to your little personal attacks they are promptly removed by the (generous) moderators of this forum.

Meanwhile you're offensive and, perhaps even, frightening assessment of Mr. Steinman @ The Dream Engine remains. I am terrified of people like you

I apologize for that.

AndyK
26 Apr 2006, 11:20
If you feel you're being attacked personally, then there is a route for dealing with it, a pointless public slanging match does nothing for the discussion.

End of story

Now, back to the topic. IMO it's the weakest of Meat's offerings, some good songs spoiled by the much publiscised production of Frank Farian ... having said that I still like it far more than much else that is offered in the record stores by other artists!

I have BBIS. I like it, the title track itself is good and most of the other tracks are good to listen to aswell. I think it's important to remember that 1977 and 1986 were very different music wise. I've looked on amazon and virgin etc. these albums are Ģ 10 or less. If you love it great, if you don't so what?
I brought it in 1994 I listen to it every so often and skip the tracks I don't like, simple!

I had most of the old albums on tapes so now I am replacing them with CD's.

1. Dead Ringer I had no problem getting from Amazon merchant really inexpensive.
2. Bad Attitude - having bad problems with receiving it - whatever you do - don't buy it from Amazon. They promised me February delivery, now it's postponed until June. They are shipping Heaven and Hell separately at least so I will have that earlier.
3. Live Around The World I bought when it first came out - 2 CD's great album - has some songs that I've never heard before like What you see is what you get. And I also love Whatever Happened to Saturday Night on this album which I don't think was released before on the record.

Good luck shopping!!!

Last Year I bought an CD-Box called "Rock n' Roll Hero", which included all Songs from Bad Attitude, Blind Before I Stop and Live at Wembley '87, and payed 13 €.
It ain't the Albums, but all the songs, and im completly satisfied.
As you are from Germany too, if looked up the german amazon link http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000B1K2G/qid=1146157464/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/302-1891676-2221636

Those tracks will be exactly the same as on BA, BFIS and Live, just in a completely different order. Arista has released these tracks in many different collections over the years, I think the originals are all you will need. I agree if there were some B sides or outtakes it would certainly be "collectable".

Ok...I went to look on Amazon for this album - just to take a look at it - god know, it ain't expensive to keep a full collection. But now I am completely confused...it appears to be that there are more than one editions of this album??? 2 available ones look like have the same tracks but different album covers? Is that the only difference? Thank you all!

Whatever Happened To Saturday Night (Hot Patootie) is from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have been fortunate enough to have heard Meat Loaf perform this song twice in my life. He did it at the Storytellers show I attended, as well as one of the shows I saw on the Just Havin Fun Tour.

Turns out it was not that unexpected. Meat Loaf was to be in Allentown the night before and arragments had been made for him to make an appearance at the Rocky Horror Picture Show performance the night before the show. Turns out the boyfriend of one of the local cast members was a high ranking official with the Allentown Fair, that is why the fair pushed so hard to get Meat Loaf in the first place. Turns out there was fog or weather in the area (if you can remember) and Meat Loaf's flight could not happen until the morning of the show. Meat Loaf's management did make sure that some of the local cast members were given some priority seating. The Columbia the night before spoke with me before the show. They were told Meat would do the song for them. Once again, Meat Loaf is a VERY cool dude!!

Blind before I stop is one of my favourite albums to be honest, I know that must shock a lot of people, but I think it fitted in well with how musical styles were at that time.

Albums with a big production like the ones Meat makes with Jim Steinman were extremely unfasionable by 1987, so all in all I love Blind before I stop, I think its a great album and very under estimated.

Thanx, I'm glad you like my nick name.

I took it from the song One more kiss (night of the soft parade) cause thats one of my all time favourite Meat Loaf songs and theres a connection to my last real name as its Knight so there ya go!

I used to pray it would be a single here in the UK but they released Getting away with murder instead, our UK record companies haven't got a clue, they can't see a hit single if it jumped up and bit them on the nose.

I was amazed noone else used night of the soft parade when I attempted to register to be honest as I didn't try anything else.

The rest of the album actually in my opinion is very good, its ironic cause I personally think Getting away with murder is the weakest track, and to think the UK record companies released it as a single here, it wasen't a hit needless to say, but yeah buy the album cause it really is very under estimated to me.

Highlights are:
One more kiss (night of the soft parade)
Burning down
Special Girl
Execution day
Blind before I stop
Man and a woman
Rock & roll mercenaries
Masculine

Slightly weaker tracks:
Getting away with murder
Standing on the outside
Rock & roll hero

But I love them all to be honest, its probably my favourite album apart from Midnight at the lost and found, I used to think that was the best until I heard Blind before I stop, so there it just proves what some people don't like others really adore!

The UK singles taken from Blind before I stop by the way were:
Rock'n'roll mercenaries.
Getting away with murder.
Special girl
Blind before I stop

And all in that order of release as far as I remember, and there was a live version of Masculine brought out as a double a sided single with a live version of Bat out of hell which was released in late 1987 also which I have as a 12inch vinyl.
