This may be old news, but I can't see it anywhere.

Apparently, Meat will be in the second episode of Masters Of Horror, it is called Pelts, and will be made by Dario Argento, script by Matt Venne.

Meat is currently on location filming the episode for Masters Of Horror.
F Paul Wilson, who wrote the original story, was there for the first couple of days, and posted about talking to Meat in his online blog. Here's the direct link if you want to check it out :

Found The Summary Of The Show.....

Episode Detail: Pelts - Masters of Horror
In “Pelts,” a fur trader (Meat Loaf) uses the skins of supernatural raccoons to construct a perfect coat, but the pelts turn violently on those who wear them. John Saxon. Directed by Dario Argento from a script by Matt Venne, who adapted F. Paul Wilson's short story.

vrg
02 Dec 2006, 06:50
In one word - WOW. Yes, it was different. And once again, Meat was not Meat acting a role - he was Jake Feldman, a real jerk. I will not reveal any more plot - saving it for those who haven't seen it yet. But the story is very different from standard horror. As we have all figured from the publicity photo of Meat on the floor, Jake does die, but not the way you expected, or at least I expected.

Have fun, everyone.

:yikes: Damn . . . . missed the first 10 minutes last night so I'll have to watch it again OnDemand, but what I did see . . . . Wow! Very different and, you are right, vrg, Meat's character was quite the unsavory slimeball!! I've become quite fond of Meat as the bad guy - he's just so good at it! I found myself wondering just how low his character would stoop next.

Actually though, I found this story quite interesting. I guess we all have to be aware of how our actions impact others . . . this story certainly took that notion to the extreme!!

I've been quite the fan of this show since it started and I must say, this one had some of the most "disturbing" special effects I've seen yet. In a nutshell . . . don't watch this right after dinner!!

I'll say nothing else because I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet, but definitely SEE IT!

I was trying for a better word for jerk, while having to avoid the word that fit the best but would have been banned - and me with it, probably! Slimeball is great, thanks. I also wondered how low he would go - and he went pretty far.

Actually though, I found this story quite interesting. I guess we all have to be aware of how our actions impact others . . . this story certainly took that notion to the extreme!!

Jake Feldman suffered the most from this premise. He was falsely accused of 'getting the ball rolling' and he didn't.

... this one had some of the most "disturbing" special effects I've seen yet.

I avoid human horror movies because I find the violence and gore hard to take, but I was set to see this as a movie only, and I agree that the special effects were so believable and great that I had to refocus and remind myself that it was only a movie.

Now, we've really teased those who haven't seen this yet.

There are 8 parts in all to download. Part 1 is an .exe file because it is a winrar self extracting file. It was uploaded like this so that folk who do not have winrar can still unpack it and it was split into 8 parts because the maximum upload size per file is only 50mb and the unpacked file weighs 350mb. :-)

OMG...I am ok with watching bloody shows...to a limit. And this show is my limit! I would have liked if they left some of the gore to the imagination of the viewer! But I can see why Meat picked this role, how he looks at a script and questions "How am I gonna do that?!"

A+ for Meat's acting, F for the amount of gore!

I watched the show tonight.. and thought it was really good.. I'm a horror/thriller movie buff, and still I looked away a couple of times.. don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.. that last FX is something I've not seen done exactly that way, in a film before, that I recall, and was pretty neat for an FX, quite realistic, I thought.

I thought Meat played the part very well, as he became Jake Feldman.. I also see why he took this part, some real challenges in this one. :)

Well Done, Meat! :))

I think I looked away when everyone except Jake died! Was almost physically sick on the third death, and as for another one...well...having just had an operation on my NOSE I wasn't too keen on seeing that one in full!:barf:
I'm not too keen on horror movies unless I'm in that particular mood, or if I've seen them before, for example I think I saw The Shining when I was 9 or something, so it didn't bother me as much now as when I lent it to my friend who was about 16 when she first saw it and it scared the bejeepers out of her!
But, I think the fact that no one on here likes Jake is testament to how well Meat played that part:D Great job! And the events round about the 50 min mark made all the blood and gore worth it:twisted:

Just thought last night: when making a programme like this the director must have to be careful what he says when the actors are holding sharp objects like knives or meat cleavers (no pun intended! ) in their hands...
"OK, CUT!...No not you! I was talking to the cameraman!!!!"

It is a DivX file with an .AVI extention. It can be saved on a data disc but you still need to download the DivX player from www.divx.com to watch it. The DivX player software is free :-)

I saved the individual files to my desktop, Djfierce. Then once all the files were there (when last one finishes downloading) they neatly converted themselves onto "real player".

You're welcome, Djfierce.
You're not alone... it took me awhile to figure it out as well, since I've never used that system before.

Yeah I got it to work....Loved It.....Loved the Blood...but did anyone realize the girl got her hand cut off like the raccoon in the trap did????? Thought it was good....not so much gore but more nudity then anything else and swearing....I liked it. I never turned away once. Trust me there is more gore in Dawn of the Dead remake.

In the scene where it shows the hunters trapping and killing the raccoons, the father says, you can break their neck/windpipe, bash them on the head a bunch of times, and also it shows how one raccoon got away by chewing it's foot off.. in the film. Those who wanted to profit from the animals deaths ( except for the seamstress) all were killed in the differant and cruel ways that animals can be killed... ie:

Father dies - son, bashes his head in with a bat.
Son dies - head caught in trap
Jake dies -skinned alive
another guy - gutted
Shanna dies - by getting her hand cut off

The show certainly makes a statement about animal rights/inhuman treatment/cruelity ect.. imho.

At the risk of creating debate, how about the seamstress who sewed herself up? Maybe the connection to animal killings is obvious, I can't see it though.

Man! I was getting ready to write about the death scene's...but you took my fun.....Ok well when ml used the knife to cut himself well that part was a dull knife with a squeeze ball thingy depensing corn syrup through a little hose along the blade (gotta quite watching horror movie how they do that stuff). which ml probably did himself by squeezing it....Then it goes into the the skin pulling which is fake but it was well made......just wonder how much corn syrup they used causes that stuff is sticky.

Just now reading your post L96, I remembered something that would explain the connection with the seamstress, who sufficated, by sewing her nose & mouth shut... mink are sufficated, so as not to damage their skins in anyway, when being processed for the fur industry.

Breaking down the death scenes to show how they relate between animal and people...

Father dies - son, bashes his head in with a bat..... like the raccoon the dad crushed
Son dies - head caught in trap...like the raccoons caught in the traps
Jake dies -skinned alive.....like what they did to the animals
Another guy - gutted using scissors...cutted pelts with scissors to make coat
Shanna dies - by getting her hand cut off...like raccoon in trap that had the same thing happen to it.
Seamtress- sufficated by sewing her nose and mouth.....like the threads they used to make the coat
Thats how they relate... I think.....Scissors, threads, pelts, dead animals, catching animals, and skinning part of making the coat

Well I tried anyone else got any ideas about this subject.

Ah, that would explain it. I didn't know that about mink, thanks Jeanie! :D

Yes, I thought the blunt knife with the gunk squeezing out of a ball tube thingy was a possibility, but what about the skin splitting? Computer maybe?...

Possible it was a body suit so it matched up close to ml skin. Like they made a mold of his body and made a replica of his chest.

Anything even vaguely related to horror/supernatural, and my brain goes into meltdown, which means I can't analyse how the effects are done. How on earth do you guys manage to focus on that?

Our warped, morbid imaginations!
Or maybe it stemmed from another thread (one for the girls) where we wondered if it was actually Meat's real skin for the whole/part/none of that scene, so we began theorising about how it could be his real skin at least until the cutting or even pulling off.

Just take the fear/repulsion out of it, and look at the technical side and it doesn't bother you.

Being warped helps too.

You Should see the video I made up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gdMfzad1dE But I made 2 versions there cause when I got done I noticed a scene at the end where there was nudity so I had to edit it out.(better version)..Enjoy...and I tried to keep it as clean as possible with as little blood. I just hope I don't get in trouble for using BAAB and Pelts together.

Listen (http://www.dreadcentral.com/index.php?name=Interviews&reg=showcontent&id=4767) to Meat discuss his role in Pelts. Click on the link under "20 most recent interviews". It's a telephone interview so the sound isn't great.

Enjoy!
